most legal cases in common-law countries are open to public review, with the exception of elements of ones that have publication bans (personal identities redacted, or those with national security/law enforcement matters at stake.

there really is no reason other than dishonesty to shield the facts from all Tornsters.

Isn't lonewolf in fed due to buying torn cash for real money? Are all these accounts fedded for nothing but multi's? i doubt that. These weirdo's in those countries like myanmar use this game to make real life cash its like a job to them. Is it a surprise 99% of their accounts type in the same way? Probably a whole family and their cousins are in on it. 

I don't know, that's the rumour though. But the temporary fed is for questioning, pretty sure he hasn't been sentenced for anything yet. If it were RMT then the seller would be deleted (as always) and the buyer would have everything they bought removed (as always). 

 Torn is a business and this is not a legal case.

Whilst a part of me would like this I also have reasons to keep a lot of our tracking methods more secretive, it's a bit of a double-edged sword because I know that if I made a lot of evidence public there would be a lot more witch hunting, people calling for blood and harsher sentences and at the same time people looking at it and thinking "Oh so if we just avoid that then we'll be ok with our multiple accounts".

I am currently dealing with Lonewolf's federal jail sentence and report and am being completely independent for this, I am all the way discussing this with a number of other staff members. 

There are a lot of people jumping to conclusions here or making conspiracies but this is in no way a faction related matter, the actions of these individuals in no way reflect on either faction in question that I can see, I made sure that when discussing this with other staff in question there were people from all sides in the upcoming conflict involved and all came to the same conclusions. 

 

The number of accounts I have jailed in connection with this matter is in excess of 20+ yet these are the higher profile ones caught up in it as people have spotted, I have absolutely no doubt that there is illegal activity involved here and more than enough evidence for this. Of all the 20+ people involved in this case only Lonewolf has filed a federal report so far which is not surprising but this in itself is not a mark against his own account. 

 

For obvious reasons I am reluctant to share more intricate details of this case.

I can understand the lack of transparency as it would undermine detection efforts, but the continual stream of offenders with 7 day vacations is nonsense.  Especially when many are long term players who have gained considerable advantage.  

perhaps a reset of all stats, rank, etc. to the time they started running multies is required to make things fair.  Simply going after monetary amounts, is not sufficient.

That is if outright bans aren't supported by the 'business model' ched's employing.

It would all depend on the extent, however, I agree - In some situational cases going after the money is not sufficient. 

 

My attitude going forward is not one of "fed the main" but "Fed all the cheating accounts involved including the main and the multi if the cheating is beyond a scope of our rulebook".

 

If the rules broken ARE within the scope of my rule book then I will be sticking with that. 

 

Whether that is the case or not with Lonewolf is not for the people here to decide. 

Every fair minded player wants the right thing to be done.

As long as that happens most of us will be happy. In this game there are those who stand up for their friends no matter what they do.

At the end of the day they dont matter, the right thing has to be done for the good of the game. Its sad when someone feels like they have to cheat in a game like this, some cheaters will have friends who will be upset when they are gone.

But if they have to go they have to go. That is just the way how it is. The right thing should always be done.

Ya wtf it's so offensive that a generic staff/player/whatever wants a legit fair game.

You blame him of being unobjective based on faction affiliation.  Then you go into a crazy partisan rant from some innocuous comment based solely on faction affiliation.

And the thing is I'm honestly not sure if you're trolling or just completely oblivious.

There have been a couple of times when a casual gaming friend has gotten (rightfully) fedded and I had no idea they were cheating. So some people may defend their friends without realizing what is going on. Those people just need to come to grips with what was going on. It's easier to get angry at staff than be hurt the a friend was doing that behind your back.

Regardless, I agree, what's right for the game should be done. Honest players should not be disadvantaged in the game out of pity for offenders. And we as players will never know the full story, not even from our cheating "friend".
