I have a friend of mine that I referred to torn, who has since went inactive in the grocery store, who is thinking about logging in and sending me his cans, since he doesn't play anymore... Is this legal or could I get in trouble?

I would highly advice against this, it will look and act the same as a multi. Make sure you get staff to give the go ahead before you even consider this though, don't risk a federal jail sentence because a … - Cheque [1962848]

There is no way to confirm that it isn't a multi. Otherwise I could easily use a VPN and just be it 'a friend of mine'.

Unless it's on the same IP address you should be ok. If it's on the same IP it could raise suspicion.
No it's not the same house/ip address he does live in the same state as me though... would that matter at all?
I think it might possibly be ok if they do it once and then don't log in again. If they do it regularly, let's say once per year your ref would in effect be a feeder account controlled by you, even if someone else owns it.
Technically it would not be controlled by the OP since its still his friend that made the account and still owned (and logged on only) by his friend. But you will need to prove to staff that there is no RMT going on apart from genuine friendship. *wink* *wink*
It still would be kind of a feeder account controlled by the OP. Can easily get a friend to just sit in a grocery store and then send you cans everysingle time he gets them without even having to actually play the game himself
It doesn't matter who controls the account technically, feeder accounts are not allowed. If his ref quits the game and gives their stuff to OP it might be ok, but obviously we don't know any details or how staff would look at it.
It's not very technical at all lol.
If you don't have the same ip address it shouldn't be questionable as is fine, your friend can do whatever he likes with his account and his items.
No he can't. You can't have accounts that exist only in order to feed other accounts.
Final answer: as long as its a seperate friend of yours and not yourself that made the account, or opens the account and sends it to you
then its alright he can send his stuff to you.
if its your friends account and hes the one sending you stuff it is NOT against the rules.
staff have advanced tools to catch you if you're exploiting in anyway or having your multi's send you stuff.
That being said it would still be better if a staff answers or adds to this thread.
If its his friends account that friend can log onto the account and do what he wants. It really isn't rocket science
You can't be that stupid? Feeder accounts are considered to be in effect multis, this has been confirmed by staff earlier.
yes, but if it were that black and white, someone could create an account and "feed" someone they dislike, causing this person to get fedded because someone created a feeder account. not even them just someone else.
Do you have selective reading? How is this a feeder account? Are your eyes up your ass?
There is no way to confirm that it isn't a multi.

pretty sure ched has said in some other thread that this is basically the same as multis
OP could be being honest...
Why not just private chat Bogie? that's what i did when i had a question about a referral account
Accounts that are only on the game for the sole purpose of benefiting another account isn't allowed IIRC
He could, and probably is, but there is no way to actually check that.
