I would highly advice against this, it will look and act the same as a multi. Make sure you get staff to give the go ahead before you even consider this though, don't risk a federal jail sentence because a few players in the community think you'll be fine.

Of course he could, and he probably is. However, we're not passing judgment on OP we're trying to answer his question.
This is quite a common multiple account ploy and generally I wouldn't recommend having an account on the same IP feeding you as it's going to look suspicious either way.
But if the case were to be different IP and a one time thing(because quitting) as in OP's case what would the outcome be?
It depends on what your friend did, when they logged on/off etc. If you guys have both been active at the same time, interacted in game at the same time, and such, and this is the first time that account is giving things to you freely, staff can see that, lending credence to it being 2 separate people.
But if you 2 were never logged in at the same time, hes sent you multiple items for free, etc, than that would look shady af.
Use your best judgement on that... its not about whats true, its about what you can prove. Your guilty until u can prove your own innocence when it comes to multi hunter snatching you up, so don't be surprised if u wake up sunday morning and your in fed!
Pretty sure the way multi-hunter works is it flags transactions where there is a flow of worth one way but no reciprocating flow of worth the other way or it is highly imbalanced. As mentioned earlier IP's are not necessarily used to filter as anyone can get a VPN nowadays. If you have a noob working in a grocery store sending you most of their networth you are acting like, and look like a multi farmer. You will at least the very least be scrutinised. I would think it is irrelevant if the other person is real or not, you come unstuck on the one account feeding the other clause.
I thought about that, to make sure it doesn't flag me i planned to be online when he is online.
Im not talking about just during the transaction. Im talking in general. If you 2 have NEVER been online at the same time, playing the game, making clicks, etc at the same time, and then that player transfers large sums of money to you, it will be suspect AF
Just having you both be online at the time of the transaction probably isn't going to be enough. When i got my false fed, it was because i made a transaction with someone, who was basically never online at the same time as me (is what i was told). It had nothing to do with the transfer of funds, because the total that was taken (then given back to me) was only about 10m. And that wasn't even GIVEN to me, it had to be part of a legit trade (but im not sure because i wasn't really given details about who the suspected multi was or when i made the trade)
So im GUESSING, that part of what multi hunter is looking for, is not only transfer of funds only going in one direction, but also activity times. Im thinking, that if me and that person were online at the same time, both clicking around at the same time, that i would have never been falsely fedded. Im sure we were both online at the same time, at some point or another, but generally speaking, our play schedules must have been opposites.
So just having him be logged on at the same time during the trade, may not be enough if there isn't a history of both of your being online and actively playing at the same time. But you guys live in the same state, im guessing you go to school together, and your friends, so i would THINK that you've both played torn at the same time, while he was playing actively. I say you do what you gotta do, and let staff/multi hunter deal with it if your account is flagged. As long as its legit, and not your multi, im sure you'll be fine bro
Dumb thread. Ask staff or bogie. None of this nubs can tell you what will happen
This just screams red flag. I agree with Jussi that if the person was self-fedding their account and quitting forever it might be a different story. But having a friend login just to send you cans every now and then sounds sketchy.
