Torn Becomes Democratic???

I have seen 3 thread forums. complain about the staff
HERE IS MY SUGGESTION..... 
I think it is better Torn uses democracy to run the town.
Bogie will still be CM. But the next staff helper will be voted by all the torn players who have experienced the game long enough.
Some of you including bogie will be thinking what if torn citizens will pick people that aren't capable of the job.
So they will be a preliminary round which can hold to as the number of players wanting to become staff only if they hit the requirements set by bogie. then bogie selects 10 members they move on to the secondary then votes will happen move on the finals.
Like democracy in countries like the US..well I don't know those shit enough,
then down to the final 2 and voting begins
this way its better and the staff would not let the community down.
they will not be able to twist the rules cause they have been chosen not to.

Just because somebody has been democratically elected, it doesn't mean they won't bend or break the rules for their own personal gain. 

See: The governments of the world. 

nothing is wrong just that choosing staff and selecting staff is one based opiniuon which is 100% correct but we need all the minds to choose thier staff memebers.

We can't just depend on one person to decide everything

It would become like a publicity stunt, or a contest. Which feels real wrong

Elected of officials favor and priviledge those who elect them. So you want to partisan the community and make some staff look for support through favors

Staff shouldn't be chosen by who wins a popularity contest. The CM is qualified to select staff because he knows everything that happens behind the scenes that most players never see, and who he thinks is responsible and trustworthy enough to use the staff tools. Making it a vote would just corrupt the process.

and how does one prove said skills?

Everyone knows people who are big forum posters like Champion, Evil-Duck, and Proxima 

Everyone knows Global regulars like Dexy, Collete, and Sky

But nobody knows who Juniverse, FSOL, or Matsumushi are. (or very few comparatively)

So how does this not turn into a popularity contest if people only vote for names they recognize?

So how could you enforce that people are only voting for those who have the skills, and aren't actually voting for whatever other reason they pleased? Or just voting for their friends?

When the CM selects new staff he's looking for people who fit his criteria, people who he thinks would be good based on things only he knows about the job. If anyone can vote there are no criteria.

No game I know of selects staff based on a player vote, and there are good reasons for that.

although i do feel that user input is important, and that ched and staff should listen more to its player.

This is cheds game. HE(or bogie) decides who is staff. none else has any right to choose the staff.
