Anyone else sharing my opinion that rosters should be locked when faction is being raided on?
It would balance all raids and make them more interesting cause right now i see no future in raids if it keeps going like this.
(people kick entire faction,raid over,etc,etc)

Are you sure you would like to kick this member?

It will cost a total of 1% of the factions respect X,XXX respect total.

Something needs to be done to not allow factions to tuck their tail between their legs.

A big reason this wouldnt work is because aggressors can raid forever, you could stagnate a factions ability to bring members back home.

Ie, all of relentless is in WolfPack right now.  If rosters locked, we should raid relentless right now, locking their roster, and then assault all their territories. (Not a bad idea ha)

A big part of mechanic changes is trying to examine potential abuses and unforseen consequences.

Some kind of punishment for reducing members down to 2 people could be implemented, especially because once a raid ends, there is a 90 day cooldown.  That cooldown could be turned off if a faction drops below, lets say 50% of its members at the start of the raid? Something like that could be implemented

implement say a 0.1% respect deduction per kick or leave during a faction raid leaves no room for abuse for locking in rosters.

Simple fight or pay the price for a 90 day break.

Should also have the same limitations as a chain - i.e. once it is started, members who rotate in cannot participate.

Or maybe not being able to participate is too strong, but rather there is a timelock after which members outside of the faction can no longer participate if they join. Or a number of hits made by that faction, or whatever.

Anyway in general I agree that Raiding shouldn't be as stupid as it is currently with factions able to kick their entire roster. However..

..there should be restrictions in place for who can be raided by each faction. Raiding is meant to be a purely destructive form of warring, but both factions involved in the raid should have fair shots at destroying the other if this is the case.

For example, a 4 million respect faction will easily be able to Raid and destroy a 5,000 respect faction. There is absolutely nothing that faction can do, even with evenly-balanced rosters there is a 3,995,000 respect deficit to overcome which is impossible.

One restriction could be dealt with when the tiered warring system comes out (i.e. you may only Raid a faction close to you competitively). Alternatively or additionally, the faction you Raid must be close (arbitrary definition, I know) in respect. Maybe something that scales, for example the aggressor may only be +10% respect compared with the defender.

I like the kicking respect thing.

Lose x amount of respect if kicking a non inactive member.

I'd like to see factions locked more often,  especially during territory wars. Nowadays you can challenge a faction and they immediately call guests, spend half a billion on sitters and call their grandads sisters cousin who is lvl 100 with 30b stats to come visit.

You can't implement a roster locking system which is dictated by another faction with the possibility of being held locked indefinably.
HellR4iser [27478]
You can put a cooldown on kicking members at least or have both factions locked that are raiding or being raided upon. Its a suggestion, platform for a change, doesnt have to be a total lockdown

The problem with that is it can make defending impossible, if faction a wants to assault faction b, they can spend a day bringing in guests, and than assault b locking b's roster in.

Unless you implement a cool down between assaults where faction b had time to bring guests in, faction a would have a pretty big advantage of sector 7ing faction b.

Edit: this could lead to a further concentration of power into super factions.  And torn doesnt need that imo

Or just remove the 90day cool down sure you could kick members around a bonus but then you have to go through the pain of kicking every one getting every one to rejoin ect slightly open for abuse.

Locking rosters sounds interesting in concept but it does leave way too many options for abuse, and figuring out a system to mitigate those abuse if possible is bound to be complicated.

Removing 90 day cooldown on the other hand seems simple. It keeps majority of the system as is, but negates the benefit of kicking all members since the raid could be restarted once members returned. Only question in that scenario remains to determine what would be the cutoff to trigger cooldown removal.

There are several online games that implement a cooldown between leaving and joining another guild/faction/clan.

For example, if a player leaves a faction they can't rejoin one for 3 days.

Another option to consider.

While that is a good idea, that wouldn't work in Torn as Raid's are only done when someone wants to damage a faction. Restricting it to only those in similar respect ranges would mean that it would be completely blunted and would serve as a weird competitive mode rather than what it is designed to do.

Still I feel that Raid's in general don't have a place in Torn where progression is permanent and never reset.
