Simple as that, change the names from random crap to simply state the mission objective. Found this spreadsheet that has them all (?) listed.

Nice request indeed. I'm working on it; shouldn't be too long now. I'll edit this post when it's done :-) EDIT: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/384701-descriptive-mission-titles In this version (1.0) the target name is still a placeholder "{name}". I'll update it soon™, but hopefully …

In this version (1.0) the target name is still a placeholder "{name}". I'll update it soon™, but hopefully this is already an improvement over the default titles. I'll also make sure to credit and link to Madame_Tussaud's spreadsheet.

Sounds great! I'll be sure to test it when I get home =)
You're a magician. Works great thank you!
Great job!
I love this scripting community - I was about to give it a go but someone else has already done it!

Looks good, I do have a "bug" report however... "A Good Day To Get Hard" does not update properly. I read the script and checked the missions, the only difference I could find was that the script (and spreadsheet) has a lowercase "to" while the mission is named in a capital "T". Since it is the only possible error I could find, I'm guessing it's case sensitive?
Thanks for all the feedback! I've updated it to version 1.1 (same link as before) to address te following issues:
- Icons were obscured by long mission titles, which cluttered the list and made it unreadable. I've moved some of the icons to prevent this.
- Target names are now displayed in the title. Some missions with multiple targets still need their descriptions updated to reflect this.
- The mission "A Good Day To Get Hard" is now correctly replaced.

TODO for upcoming versions:
- Move the timer icon to a better place. Simply moving it left where the other icons are renders it illegible (light text, light background). Can be solved by applying a dark background-color to it but that makes the mission difficulty (e.g. the color of the contract icon) harder to see.
- Probably fix more broken mission titles. Please let me know if you find a mission title that's not replaced properly, I'll fix it in a new update.

I think it's better to make a new thread about it
Great script, very helpful. I've simply been using the spreadsheet to check every time I needed to do a mission, so great job!
Small bug, similar to Nobody's. The "it" in "Rolling in it" should be lowercase in the array.

Good to hear, hope it's a bit easier than switching to the spreadsheet all the time. Would it be useful to include any of the other info from the spreadsheet somewhere in the mission details?
The title is fixed in v1.2, thanks for reporting it!
> I think it's better to make a new thread about it
We could move discussion somewhere else if this feels like thread hijacking, we don't need any of that :-)

.
wouldn't it be better if it just add the objective somewhere around the page instead of changing the mission title into the objective? atleast we don't have to read the whole duke's chitchat to figure the objective. suggesting this because some objective text don't fit in the mission title template
I believe the mission rename fits into the header when you select the mission? It is certainly the smallest script, and I believe changing it into replacing the Duke chitchat would take a lot of time (not to mention several of them contain target names).
Not exactly a hijack, but I would assume it would be a lot easier for you to create the thread so you get notified whenever someone replies to the thread.
Edit: Bug #3, the missions display the name of the first target after accepting, I believe it is because you have the special brackets {name} - while it is good for some missions it's not good for all as some have 3 or even more targets.

im not saying to remove the chitchat,im saying to put the objective somewhere around the page.
but yea i didnt see if it also changes the header

Version 1.3 adds more {name} placeholder for missions that require it. I haven't been able to test these specific changes because I currently don't have any of those missions, but the same concept applies to "Bonnie and Clyde", where it works as expected.
I may be able to style the overflowing titles a bit better. I'll tend to that in a future version.

What I meant was that if a mission has 5 different targets, the mission states "attack 5 Nobody" assuming my name would be the first in the list. For missions where there are just 1 target that would be fine, but for missions with several targets its better to just say "attack 5 named"
The template for the mission “Undercutters” (which has 3 targets) is now “Defeat 3: {name}, {name} and {name}”. All target’s names should appear. I assumed that would be the most logical display, or am I missing something essential?
Sorry for not being clear, although we could have two completely different perspectives. In my opinion, mission names are only important prior to accepting, most of the time that means the mission target name will be hidden. After accepting the mission, you can read the mission objective, at that point the mission re-name will have almost 0 value. What I want info on when it comes to missions is whether or not it will be a waste of energy, if I can buy defends or if I should save it for a chain.
What I'm suggesting is that the re-name should simply state "Defeat 3 (named) targets" or "Defeat 3 (random) targets" depending on the mission - for optimal pre-mission-acceptance value.
