ok so for the most part I think most people agree that corporations are creating issues within society that we as a society need to deal with.
the biggest issue is how to deal with it. it seems the dividing line is how to do so.
my answer is, has been, and will be responsible spending by americans that will dictate change by not financially supporting these entities that mistreat workers, underpay their employees, ship jobs overseas, etc. at least until such time when a real workable idea is produced. obviously that's not very popular as people don't like being told they are doing something wrong, especially when inconvenient. the truth though is we as consumers do have the power to affect change we keep demanding from our politicians who fail to deliver.
so whats your answer if mine doesn't fit your ideology?
my issue with waiting for some political group or politician to "save us" is they've been saying for years they would do it and haven't yet. personally im done with listening to that lie told for decades now as they line their pockets and special interest coffers with corporate money. both parties have held all 3 major political powers in the last 12 years and yet somehow nothing has been done to curb all the buzzwords like corporate welfare, tax loopholes, etc. so to me its obvious that believing the next group will be different is the very definition of insanity.
at what point are we as americans supposed to finally assume the responsibility for our own actions in terms of who we financially support? at what point does it become obvious that waiting for our tax checks to run out and hand it to these greedy corporate overlords is extremely counter productive the change we want to see? when will we as consumers realize we have the power to do what we are asking others to save us from?
see the way I see it is we can WAIT for someone to do this for us, or we can do it NOW together. id really like to see some movement of consumers, not dems vs. repubs, unite and retaliate against these entities through spending at small business as much as possible and limiting how much we support them financially.
if a restaurant is not very good, has bad service, and costs too much people use this power and spend elsewhere and they close the doors. the same idea will work all over. most small businesses these days will match any online price just to get your business. it isn't as convenient as ordering it and having it delivered, but most things worth doing aren't easy.
don't ask for change, be the change.
