Every time a new patch is released, I always see Dmitry working on Bookie 2.0. He's been working on it for such a long time. What is he working on that's just taking so much time to complete and would it be worthwhile for Ched to delegate some of the workload of the new Bookie system, to other staff members (e.g. Software Engineers/Developers) who may be capable of working on it and can reduce the workload and bring the official release date of the new Bookie system forward? The maximum Bookie bet limit whilst these works are taking place is quite annoying and we've been waiting for such a long time for this new system. I understand that changes like this can take time, however this has been going on for many months now and it's getting quite annoying and also repetitive, seeing Dmitry working on the same project day by day, week by week, month by month.
Yeah, that's a valid point...I think I've been so focused on what Dmitry has been up to lately that's just taking such a long time. But there are also other's like Alice as well which have the same theme going on with projects
I think he's probably just trying to make sure there isnt variance betting options. If you can stop variance betting thats a majority of the issues. And making sure that any mistaken bets on system side that are available are resolved in the proper way.
Im sure ched doesn't want bookie 3.0 to end as abruptly as 2.0 did and in such spectacular fashion.

How do you think he feels? Anyway, adding too many cooks can spoil the broth. Trust the people that know the code, to know what's best for the code. If more developers can be added and it makes sense, they probably would be. You know literally nothing about the codebase, why do you feel like you're in the position to make better judgements than them?
These current priorities declared informally by personnel for the week unfolding do not include other smaller projects they may be working on or the usual bug fixes.
I always hate the fact that the people of Torn always have things to say about the devs, yet they don't know their circumstances. Alice might only work on it 1 day a week, as the writing wouldn't have to be done till shortly before release anyway. Dimitry might have to wait on the provider to provide some things etc.
It's because total overhauls to factions, attacking and stat formulas, and even Respo were huge updates but released fairly quickly as opposed to something like crimes that Alice has been working on. People are allowed to criticize the devs and those running the game on this. It's how games work. Do you not criticize the makers of other games like Square Enix for how they have been destroying their own fan bases?

I am stoked about the work Alice has been doing. Can you imagine how amazing crimes 2.0 is going to be. Having a dedicated author with over 7 years dedicated to the task of world building and storytelling. Just a little longer now and she will have been given the opportunity to spend more time on it than J.K. Rowlings spent on Harry Potter. The deep rich lore that she is generating will be unlike anything any of us have ever seen before.
And you lot are going to spam click try again at the bottom of the crime 1 minutes after it is released.
You also make a valid point- coding is not a walk in the park. Things go wrong. It can be trial and error. I'm not critiquing the coding part of the project, but rather the turnover, expectations and deadlines. I'm a donator of this game and so are you. We do deserve to have an input and also deserve to have answers, especially with projects that have been dragging out for such a long time, that we are starting to question if it ever will be released. We're also not sure if Dmitry is working on this for only a few hours a day, for a week or if he's working on it 9am-5pm, 5 days or 7 days a week. If we were given further information regarding the project, then I think I wouldn't have made this thread and respected the whole idea of a 'project', in which there is publicly accessible information regarding its status, deadlines etc.
"I'm a donator of this game and so are you. We do deserve to have an input and also deserve to have answers"
I know I'm in the minority, but I disagree with this completely. We're not share owners, we're not invested in this game in any way. You're a donator, you choose to make a donation. If you don't like the direction of the game or the way in which development is happening, don't donate.
