This is actually GLOBAL and should be treated as such. Exponential growth is hitting every country very hand. Making sure everyone realizes the urgency and severity of this is very important. Hope people begin to understand that soon.
5 counties in the San Francisco Bay Area are now quarantined and I am not to return to work for 3 weeks.
China sucks.
China sucks.
We don't directly touch any food unless there is a fault, the product (packaging, not touching the food itself). We do work in a warehouse with millions of products, and a single cough could contaminate tens of thousands of packages, and we still don't know how long the virus can survive on many types of surfaces and at what temperatures. Having a sink at all the locations would need it is simply not possible.
To give you a scale:
The warehouse I work at is a fair bit larger. We could easily have used safe alcohol hand sanitizers, but not when it's all sold out...

Thing is that some people should be fearful, people not in risk of complications and not at a high risk of distributing the disease because of their job should not panic. If I get it, so will thousands of extra people in my county. I'm not a "one sick spreads it to 2-3 people", I'm a "one sick spreads it to thousands of people". I should stay at home now, like many at my job, but if we don't go to work we would change this from 3-4% mortality rate to 100% starvation death rate... We will go to work even if we get the coronavirus, but it would help a lot if we had proper safety guards in place.
We know more than you think. The virus survives 24 to 72 hours depending on surface.
However in reality Nobody with good hygiene is going to get the virus from a surface unless they go around licking doorknobs.

I do not think people understand how absolutely f**ked the global economy is right now and how especially f**ked the US economy is.
On my flight out to CA last Sunday, 1/3 of the plane was empty. On my flight back to NJ 5 days later, my flight was only at 1/5 capacity; I had a whole row of 6 seats to myself. This route is the only non-stop from NJ to John Wayne (SNA) in CA; I have never seen it NOT at capacity in the 6 years I've flown this route. Travel is going to grind to a halt. Hotels are going to be vacant. Restaurants are going to be closed. Retail stores are going to see decreased foot traffic. Uber and Lyft volume are down. Schools just announced a two week closure. Parents are going to have to call out of work and use their PTO. The point: people are going to lose jobs and lose income and this is going to dry up consumer spending.
Economic activity is going to contract, but the worst part is that we have a slim social safety net for tens of millions of Americans and that net is about to be stretched to its limits. People are going to lose their income. People are going to lose their cars. People are going to lose their homes. A friend works in a school and she is telling me how heartbreaking it was discussing how they are going to feed the kids that are on free and reduced lunch programs. Yes, they are planning on how to feed these kids for the next two weeks as we go into a shutdown.
Denmark and other EU countries are announcing aid packages for their workers knowing that the slowed economic activity is going to absolutely push many low and even middle income people to the limits. The US has no plan to help average Americans; not healthcare wise, not economically, not anything. Average Americans are basically being told "Sorry, you're on your own."
You may feel OK with a nice rainy day fund and a few thousand dollars -- maybe tens or hundreds of thousands in savings -- but a big, big chunk of your fellow Americans are about to be f**ked.
Wouldn't you think Netflix should be up? Everyone's going to be at home! NO! NFLX is the first non-essential people are going to cut once they start running out of money. As money dries up, every non-essential is going to get cut to the core. That's why the entire market is contracting: everyone is anticipating that consumer spending and economic activity is going to completely and utterly dry up in the next few months. In my lifetime, I've never seen any situation like this. There has never been a situation where large portions of the American population working hourly jobs are going to be out of work for potentially weeks if not months.
The economic fallout of this event is going to be absolutely crippling. If you are optimistic, you are dead ass wrong. If we were handling this like Taiwan or South Korea, I would be somewhat optimistic that we could contain this and get back to a normal pace by Q3. Hint: we are not handling this like Taiwan or South Korea. In 1-2 weeks, we will probably be tracking the same curve as Italy.
Now ask yourself, what will the people with no safety net do during these times? What do you do if you live paycheck to paycheck when your job is gone for an undetermined amount of time? Who knows, but we'll find out in a week or two.

Covid 19 not only kills people but it destroys the worldwide economy, which is rigged big time by printing tons of cash out of thin air for years.. The quarantine of mass people will make the crash aka ...depression only go faster ...like we see now hapning on the stock markets...
Soon medical martial law and forced vacines ...who knows what the Gatesies have put in it...
Huge swarms of 5bil locust eating a days food of a country like Kenia ...swarms over Arabia pakistan to china...and new swarms are developping...estimated max 500x bigger then the current one...no pesticides because the Gretas wont allow it pls wave your towel ….
Wars and migrant crisis especially Idlib and europe..
But what many dont see...Russias economie is oil based...for the biggest part and doing bad for over 2 years...they need min 50 dollar a barrel to break even...The game the Imperialists combined with Arabia now play buy lowering the price under 30 dollar a barrel..Russia wont accept that….The Putins of this world like POWER ...he will act strongly...he is a dog with his back against the wall...means one thing take out the enemie….USA and the world bettter be ready for what is comming...
One supersonic missile 5 to 7 times the speed of light will take out the USA even before you can blink your eyes and no weapon can defend you from it...one missile can carry min 32 warheads...you can say yea sure he wont do it ...fine...i tell you ...he will ...nuclear winter is comming
Order ab choas NWO...one world currency religion n government...all digital ...
Better get right with God...this world wont get any better ...down hill snowballing

5 to 7 times the speed of light?
I'll have some of what your smoking.

I think he meant speed of sound but I'm assuming he's incredibly drunk.
dude, your an idiot...
first off let just state the truth here. Nothing travels faster then light.
an as for for the "one missile can carry min 32 warheads" NOBODY has a missile like that yet. ill provide you with 2 links to inform yourself, 1 is the best Russian missile an the other will be the best U.S. missile.
Russian's RS-28 Sarmat
America's UGM-73 Poseidon
now as for the fact you think Putin would launch an all out attack...your a fool, Putin knows he cant beat the world on his own...look at the Germans attempt, an the world in general has only gotten stronger.

No, he's right to an extent. "Nuclear"-type responses such as seen in China and South Korea work. But I call them nuclear for a reason, because they enact extreme economic costs.
Policymakers in general have an interest in ignoring the coronavirus and hoping it goes away. But if coronavirus is untreated, it spreads at R0 2.0-2-3 (2-2.3 patients infected per already infected patient, or what we see as a 1.3^days increase in caseload), and the mortality rate seems to be 6% when it's wholly untreated.
Markets have already crashed 40% over coronavirus from what was already a high peak. Depending on results, we could be seeing the markets seeing 60% dips from peak before the bear market ends.

You seem to have missed 95% of his post since you only commented on 5% of it.
The only part that's incoherent is the near end, wherein he goes on about hypersonics (he means that, not supersonics or mythical FTL weaponry).
And I'll clarify what happened to the oil price. In the past decade or so, the United States, via the frackers, have become the dominant producer, to the extent that the US is now an oil exporter, not an importer. Fracking, however, is high-cost production, around the 50-70 USD range to break even,
The Russians, during the Great Financial Crisis, considered selling Sallie Mae bonds to destabilize the US economy, but the Chinese vetoed them by refusing to go along. This time around, by breaking up their production quota agreement with OPEC, they have a strong shot at destabilizing US frackers, even if they take short-term losses. It makes sense for them to do so considering that the US is no longer an oil importer, and that by accentuating the fracking debt crisis (this exists), they have a reasonable shot at destroying a competitor.

You make some strong points, people should be worried. And there is an economic downturn, into fairly unsteady waters.
But, also let's not panic.
Many companies will be fine. They have big pockets, and the government loves to throw money at them. Look at put National Emegency address. It's kind of a culminating point.
So we have an economy, with a government that can print money. It will be ok.
The people that wont, are the ones that lose their jobs, depend on local funds, the elderly that cant be seen by healthcare workers, and so on.
This isnt months and months. This is called flattening the curve.preventing as much of the overture of 3% increase to health systems as possible.
For that, we need test.kits. most countries have them. We decided we were better...or something. And produced our own. Our first version had a mistake, so now we are on v2.
Now that that is getting produced, we can start getting a real infection rate. And start to see how bad this will impact communities.
This is not shutting down for months and months.
Though I do we,as a world, and individually as countries decide to look at our economy, our politics, and decide what is actually important. When a virus can bring us to our knees, where virtually the whole society agrees on a pause... and people could die simply because they didnt have enough of this colorful paper, or live in an area that valued lives enough to worry about transportation, etc.
This pause is going to suck for stocks, and inflation, and the economy for the next decade or more. But it will survive.
We should look how we can grow from this as it unfolds, and change. To better insulate ourselves, economically, scientifically, socially, and politically.

when i read "gatesies" i facepalmed so hard my forehead is swollen
You do know that a missile can't travel faster than the speed of light, never mind 5 - 7 times faster. Nothing can travel faster than the speed of light.
The speed of light is 299,792,458 m/s. The distance between Moscow and Washington DC is ~ 7,816,000m
So you are saying that Russia could hit the USA with a missile in 0.0037s? (

One word. Deluded. You are deluded.
Stop living with this delusion and come back to the real world.
