Overview

Revivers in torn is without a better word are OP In certain situations.
Why?
Because Right now with the current Faction Wall war's it is more important to manage your revive bill then acutely attacking the other faction
In Essence, Revivers have to much impact on the balance of faction Warfare
Don't Believe me?
Look at any major Power block and find me one that doesn't have a revive faction either within it or heavily supports one.
Or simply be in one
Or read the news https://www.torn.com/newspaper.php#!/articles/1163
However
Revivers are not just OP the ability is incredibly easy to obtain
Revivers can obtain the revive ability within 47 days or less https://www.torn.com/newspaper.php#!/articles/1045 (Yea I know I wrote it doesn't mean it isn't true)
So what should be changed?
Revivers still have to gain Brain surgeon
They still revive for 75E at a base cost
I purpose Revivers must not only spend a long time getting the ability but they have to actively do something to keep it as well
To gain the ability to revive players will have to Gain Brain Surgeon once 47 days
They also Have to gain BIO3420: Bachelor of Biology 155 days (with education merits) Or a new education no one has yet
They have to actively sit in a new company with a reviver special like this onehttps://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=4&t=16168250&b=0&a=0&start=0&to=20507759
What will this do?
This will decrease the number of players that can revive lowering the overall impact of them. Even if everyone has Brain Surgeon and BIO3420: Bachelor of Biology Far Fewer Players will commit their company slot to Reviving.
But You mentioned Faction Wars...
Yes, However Ched has announced those will be changing so I will hold back from specifically wanting to nerf revivers in faction war's till that happens.

Very interesting and good source of information. Useful for those who want to pursue a medical career or simply want to learn about the life, risks, and responsibilities of a healer. Great thread!

"Because Right now with the current Faction Wall war's it is more important to manage your revive bill then acutely attacking the other faction"
This is provably false.

If faction A is fighting faction B, faction A has a revive faction while faction B does not, and faction A members do not attack faction B members, faction A will lose - even if faction B gets no revives.
Revives help faction members return to the fight, but they need to attack afterwards or the revive has no value.
Attacking is more important than reviving.

Further, it is not even clear what your proposal includes.
"gain BIO3420: Bachelor of Biology 155 days (with education merits) Or a new education no one has yet" Which is it ?!?

This real heart of this proposal is creating a new company with a perk that exists only:
1. if someone completes a city job first and 2. has a specific education attainment.
This is two entirely new game mechanics for a company perk. No other job ability has either of these requirements.
Your link to the thread by Bainz does not include this new perk.

Your suggestion did not describe the new company with revive perk.

"This is provably false."

Probably? evidence suggest otherwise from the new's (Public) and other opsec related sources

Your second sentence makes no sense nor does it prove a point please clarify

For your third Sentence, I am assuming you are simply confused I said this or this

For your fourth paragraph that is correct, the link does not contain a revive ability perk I already suggested in that thread for it to be added however you would still understand the idea that revivers would have to be in a specific company that either already exists (meaning a perk will have to change) OR A Company which doesn't exist yet like Bainz's suggestion

Anyway Hope This will clarify waiting on constructive feedback 07

Reducing the number of players able to revive would reduce revive supply. Those left with the revive ability would become even more "OP."

Able to charge higher prices and be more influential. This seems the direct opposite of your intention?

Losing the ability to revive after earning it and not being a "Healer" I dislike the idea on an individual level. I occasionally revive friends as a way of showing attention/caring. The same vein as sending flowers or candy kisses etc, becoming unable to have that option? Why?

Sorry, I need a better reason. -R

I also don't really understand the logic here. I don't see how any of the proposed changes can actually make any form of improvement, and I'm not sure why / how over 100 people agreed with them. I'd expect there's 100 steps we'd take before that.

Either way, there are planned changes coming for territory wars which will mix up the reviving scene quite dramatically I expect. I would rather wait for that before attempting to even look at changes to reviving.

Thanks.

Want to nerf revivers? Just give the perk for free to all players and make it cost 25e baseline. That will kill it's value and most players will move on to something more profitable.

If you’re going to make any changes to reviving, it should be to make revives work like busting - have a hidden reviving skill, and have higher level / higher hospital time revives require higher skill for success. This way specializing in revives means something.

Right now a 100 day old player that just learned to revive is just as good as someone with 40000 revives, which makes no sense.

This would also make hospital time meaningful again in revive fest wars.
GracefulHunter [1900839]
IDK if they're qualified enough to work as brain surgeons, they should be able to patch up some gunshot or stab wounds so adding a new hidden exp meter for revives would just complicated things too much. Instead how about using our current level system and make it so you can't revive players higher level than yourself.

This way you can say good bye to those 100 days old players that revive lvl 100s.

Rest in peace those level holders that wants to revive.
I agree to disagree about hidden level of Reviving but having a "chance" to fail would dramatically change the market. perhaps another Enchancer to be introduced? (Like Rosary but with real effects?)
GracefulHunter [1900839]
Lol I didn't think about how it would affect players like Jesus but you're right, my idea is a little too strict so intoducing a fail chance is a better solution.
However it would be interesting to update the pros and cons list of level holding
