Trading is time consuming. If you are willing to put in the time, it's profitable and worthwhile. You should expect to mostly stop traveling once you start trading, so you can be available to buy/sell more often.
Focus on consumable items. Energy cans, FHC's, donator packs, drugs, meds, candy, alcohol, supply packs, etc. Items that get used up so people need more of them.
Flowers and plushies count as consumable since they eventually get converted as sets into points and the points are sold. If you've completed the History course, you'll want to convert those sets yourself and sell the points.
Items like guns and armor, it's hard to make much unless you can come up with very high stat items, so that's kind of a specialty business. The turnaround on those is slower and they can tie up a lot of money.
Misc items with no real use are hard to make much on.
You will want as much money as possible to trade with, and it won't be enough. You can tie up huge amounts of money quickly. Profits on any one deal tend to be 1%,or 3%, maybe 5% if you are lucky, but with lots of items bought and sold, it adds up.When you first start, you will want to roll most of your profits back into your working money so you can buy more items. Just one SE will tie up $400m or so until it's sold. If you don't have the money to buy, you'll miss out on deals, and it's harder to build up regulars who sell to you often.
You will be mugged. The reason people sell to traders is to avoid the muggers. You should certainly protect yourself by self-hospitalizing and such, but sooner or later, you will still get mugged. Don't get mad, just consider it a cost of doing business. If it wasn't for muggers, traders would need a different job.

You need a lot of capital to be competitive amidst the likes of the big names, but you can carve out markets that aren't as active in the beginning. Perhaps temporaries .. I'm drinking a bit so that's all I got at the moment h aha
Buy low. Sell high.
No big mystery
No big mystery
Self hosp ,be nice have reasonable prices with an auto spreadsheet
Also work in clothing company.
So many traders end up in federal jail or give up trading because they insist not working in clothing company. Eventually they start using script, burned out, bleeding after getting mugged brutally, etc.
People often offer me job in training companies with good pay. Thing is I am only human. I can fall asleep, forget stuffs, or not in the mood. Working in clothing company is my safety net when my human error kicks in.

Is it better if to start trading when i fully completed my history course? I plan to go trader route as well but my young torn age will make me an easy mugged target?
if u have a friend u trust. u can send him ur sets and he can trade them for u. but u gotta be in the same faction to be able to receive ur points. And yh mug target is for every trader. Most attacks ppl with trader status hoping to get money
Finish the blood bag edu first. You can NEVER be too strong or too fast to be mugged. The day ppl understand this, will be the day the amount of buymugging will drop. All about learning how to protect your money and make sure you still gain even after you get mugged. It's never about how much your battlestat.
THISSSS ... THE 75% MUG PROTECTION IS AMAZING !!!
