Cool game, the only problem I see is that it incentivizes people to wait until several people have played rather than being one of the first as you have much more information then.
Perhaps having the game randomly “guess” a few times at the start of each game could help this?
Also maybe consider changing it so yellow means within 4 squares instead of row/column because right now if people play properly it’s only ever going to take a maximum of 16 guesses .

the first idea is pretty cool
the second one is not that good IMO tho, like you said, it'll just make ppl bored cuz it'll be too hard.

Another option could be to allow for multiple guesses (max 3-5 guesses) until 1 yellow is found, then from that point, max. 1 guess per player. So people won't wait for others to guess

Great idea! Some suggestions:
1) give a cool name and update the title
2) at 5$ per bet and with the current rules, you're going to lose too much money :) I guess either you reset the game every few hours, or.change that 5$ (you could also consider an incremental bet, based on the number of tries in the game, but it may become too complicated)
3) i like VLADAR ideas, before showing yellows, maybe you can allow 10 guessing and showing yellows only if you get close

2. He did say in OP that the game is in testing right now, so who knows maybe we'll get better rewards with higher stakes?

Hmmm...this might be faster and more fun if it were a race. Each player allowed 1 guess per minute, first to solve wins.
