Do you have a favorite cryptid? Personally, my favorite and because I am partial to this as a Florida native, is the Skunk Ape. Basically, it is Florida's version of Bigfoot. Whether they are real or not, it is always fun to research these in my opinion. I find it interesting that different cultures all over the world, will come up with various ones, sometimes often similar.

A sane sounding guy told an "unbelievable story" as was the theme of the day recently on a local radio show.
His family was driving in really foggy conditions and there was a vehicle in front of them. Something came out of the fog causing him to slam his breaks. Everyone in his vehicle saw it and he said they knew the vehicle ahead of them saw it because they slammed their breaks too.
It was a large, like 8-10 ft hairy beast "reminicent of big foot" but all white. He said it's fur was so white it almost seemed like it was glowing. When they slammed their breaks it turned and ran back into the fog. He said he never saw anything like it and knows he'll never see anything like it again.

Probably because Nessie's existence seems much more unlikely than that of Bigfoot or the Chupacabra. I have done quite some research on Nessie and sadly many of the evidence, especially the most famous pieces, that is known has been debunked or deemed unlikely.

My favorite Cryptid has to be Cthulhu.
Cthulhu is not a cryptid. Cthulhu is an elder god. Cthulhu has been before and will be after.
I also tought that at first, but then I Google it and found out it can also be considered a Cryptid. Gonna look it up again though.
Search up Yara-ma-yah-who. Research native australian mythology. If you werent already scared of coming here with all the common creepie crawlies you will be after you research the muldjewangk. And as a non-native that lived in the bush I can confirm the Hairy Man exists and is likely the only living creature in contact with bigfoot. Have fun sleeping and don’t come here. 🇦🇺🦘🇦🇺

Kraken
So the Kraken was thought to be giant squids. However, giant squids don't really come to surface unless they are dying and are really rare even then. What historians and marine biologists think that sailors of old actually saw, were whale dongs. Yup those giant fleshy objects coming up out of the water, just huge whale penis.
Id say the Rougarou. Its basically Louisiana's bigfoot as well. Its quite interesting how similar some crytids are throughout states.
It makes sense that they originate fom the same species, having only slightly adapted to their environment. Even the Yeti has similar features.
