Medium suitcase scammer

So. Yesterday I finally got enough money together to buy a large suitcase. I check out the market before I fly to Hawaii and lo and behold.

Large suitcase selling for $10 080 000. Heck. Now that I can live with. $80 000 profit to the seller instead of me flying to Hawaii and risk getting mugged.

I open his item list and the first item is the suitcase. Price is the same. So I buy it. "You have bought medium suitcase" Wait... WHAT???? NOOOO!!!! I check again. Large suitcase is further down the page for the same price.

Damn! I screwed up. I message him explaining that I messed up and could we please swap?

No response.

Then this morning in faction chat I find I am not the only one who got caught this way.

Great. I got scammed. Instead of $80 000 he made a sweet profit of $6 080 000.

My advice is make double sure you are buying the correct item.

Yeah I should have checked better, but in my defence it was the same price as I found in searching for it and it was loud and clear in first position.

If I end up in hosp for posting this, so be it. I need the hosp merit anyway.

this isnt a "scam", its you being an idiot. and idk about you, but i made a forum post and two people sent them to me for free.

At this point, with as many folks as icecoldcola has motivated to create this exact thread about the same exact thing over and over

Yeah. I was being an idiot for not checking properly. But he's still running a scam with it. And it's obviously working for him. Otherwise he would have at least replied to my message.

I appreciate the lesson. Made peace with one less item and the loss of money as well. Therefor the post.

Got scammed by iribuya for what i believed was a donator pack... was not (it was before they changed the pic)

Sorry but this is in no way "running a scam."

Intentional scamming would be him approaching you, or you approaching him, and agreeing on a set thing, and while you're expecting the set thing to happen, he bamboozles you and instead does something else that is not to your favor.

What happened here is he priced a large and medium suitcase the same, left his shop open for anyone, you went looking for a large suitcase, and instead bought a medium suitcase because you didn't read.

He didn't scam you.

You scammed yourself.

You can feel free to alert people and say hey guys watch out for this, but don't call him a scammer.

Are you sure it was iribuya? I recalled IceColdCola once had his bazaar named to "Iribuya's bazaar" to create distraction

Im sure Iribuya wouldn't run this scam so it was probably IceColdCola when his bazaar was called "Iribuyas Bazaar"

He's been doing that for awhile so yes, its working perfectly for him that lots of people fall for it.

I'd recommend you to use the 'search' features next time, at least that's what I do everytime. Take this as a lesson, cheap one indeed for small cost of $6mill.

In this torn world, you have to be sharp. Lots of people will take advantage whenever they can. If ICC didn't get you, someone else might sooner or later.

P/s: ICC has blacklisted me from buying from his bazaar not long ago cause apparently I buy the correct item from his bazaar all the time. He has good price, I will give that (obv cause hes trying to bait people so take advantage of that)

You have to read to play a text based crime RPG. You paid the "I didn't read" tax.

i agree, generally speaking, with the people saying it's useless to make these threads and that not paying attention to what you are doing it's the only cause of this (and even OP said that), but i find laughable the common idea that these people don't scam but "yOu ScAm YoUrSeLf".
i mean... really? if one day i'll decide to do such things it will be to scam people, plain and simple. yes, whoever fall for these scams can only blame themselves, but saying that the scammers aren't scammers is just plain false.
