1. Cool not everyone has a faction, or active enough faction members do this
2. Not really up to you whether people use Caymans or not. It's a game mechanic designed to be used, it can be used by anyone.
3. People travel with cash for a LOT of reasons. Up until literally 8 days ago, it was possible to buy shares in the stock market in order to protect any Caymans withdrawals, or Bazaar sales. This has been turned completely upside down, and obviously it takes time for radical changes to properly filter through to the more casual players.
I have no problem with mugging people who are careless. But care has nothing to do with a large proportion of these mugs.
<minimum possible time for mugger to mug> is currently smaller than <minimum possible time to bank cash>, which is a flaw in the game itself.
I welcome mugging when it is not happening via script exploits that make it literally impossible to counter or protect yourself. There is no intelligence or skill or gameplay available right now that prevents you from being mugged before you have a chance to know you have actually landed.
This is a significant problem, where user interface of the game is being modified by scripts to allow for speed spam clicks in the same area of the screen to complete multiple actions all at once - and this is achieved before a player even knows the game has registered they have landed etc. Add captcha nonsense and lag, and it's a perfect recipe for impossible protective gameplay in specific circumstances. It wasn't an issue before because people had the ability to take gameplay steps to mitigate risk. Intelligence, awareness, skill, and personal experienced allowed for creative navigation of the criminal potential in the game. Now, there is literally nothing to do but bend over and lube up. You have no other choice.
I would love more robust, fair mugging opportunities for this crime game. However...
I dont think anyone is a snowflake for arguing that this current set up through scripts and api bots, leading to obscenely unfair advantages, and geographical regions of the world having a significant advantage over others (due to websockets and cloudflare issues that CRLF has pointed out in the other massive thread on this same topic), needs to be addressed.
Right now it feels very much like an exploit that needs to be deemed illegal given the current set up of the game due to recent game changes, or some kind of protective measure limiting or eliminating this exploit to allow equal opportunity and skill to come back into the picture needs to be added.
So People use to buy stocks to hide there cash and now they can't so change Tacs ,Adapt to the new meta there are Jobs to hide your travel which would be smart if you are a Cayman banker don't blame the player when it's the point of the game.
API is a great thing to mention, because I'm always happy to bring up the fact that Stock API was delayed specifically to prevent leveraging a P2P disadvantage against another player.
Regarding mugging, it may help to read what I'm writing.
The issue isn't mugging. The issue is user scripts that facilitate you spam clicking a single area of the screen to complete multiple different actions that prohibit the victim of having any tools, experience, knowledge, gameplay, or skill to counter - exacerbated by websockets, cloudflare, geographical regions, and how torn loads.
This is about user scripts that have no tangible counter to them. It is about user scripts which modify the gameplay so significantly that victims are powerless to change the outcome.
Coupled with websockets, cloudflare, and the UK advantage (geographical region), the script allows for an OP exploit of the disease (which isn't about flying, cayman, bazaar sales, or mugging)
My screen shows me still flying while your screen has allowed you to fully complete a mug.
Hopefully something is done. If someone can mug someone else before the page actually loads in after landing, this is bullshit and should not be allowed.
