Discord?

just wondering peoples thoughts on Discord?

Do you like how much it has become a part of torn?

Are you still using another type of communication program?

I personally think discord is a fun and useful tool. I come from the land of IRC/mIRC. In my opinion, discord is a nice upgrade. Tho I do wish I could customize my discord like I did with my nonamescript for mIRC :’(

i dont use discord and i play torn just fine, what am i missing?

Other than some giveaways and get to know some people.
Also there are lots of bots that could be helpful, NPC tracking.
Plus you can send nude meme back and forth there.

Personally I think discord is extremely useful and I like it.

It is essential in organizing events like URT or in planning team strategies during Elimination.

Also it is a good way for factions to communicate with members or their sub faction members, even during torn downtimes.

As a faction leader, I require my members to join our discord, It is were we do all our planning, and faction discussions. It is an evaluable tool for us

I had to sign up for each faction I joined but basically gained nothing helpful from it other than as a distraction. I could see it being useful for some who need to do heavy group organisation activities, but for the majority it is just noise and another app to manage and secure.

I already use and manage accounts for so many chat type apps for my work ( MS Teams, Slack, Skype, FB Messenger etc) each is a bother and risk.
Torn's in-built chat tooling has been 'good enough' for my limited needs.

whilst it's against discord tos to directly modify an installed client, if you know what you're doing you can use scripts on the web app (I see a lot of people customizing their webapp clients via css scripts installed on chrome extensions) to make it look a little prettier : )

Isn't discord where all important announcements are made despite most of the player base not accessing it and there being perfectly good tools in games to portray this information.

Check you password manager sometime--how many collaboration capable platforms? Discord is the flavor of the moment at least for Torn but give it a few years and it may be the new Skype. People are fickle as you allude to well. Search up Discord alternatives for example. Lots of other compelling options.

Discord is saver, more user friendly than teams or Skype, I've been using discord since release.

Torn discords are *usually* a cesspool.
