Deceased loved one "jokes" is actually not as common as the internet has evolved and people started thinking more about the human behind the screen, so it takes extra special scumbaggery to still do it today.
Shorthand internet slang isn't as bad as it once was, people are generally more comfortable typing now so you get less "u?" etc.
