I have only done 1/2 a dozen wars or so, but something is not right with the payout system.

From our last war, in which we had a stat disadvantage over their big players, we are a Silver III vs Gold and we fought hard and made them earn the win. The fight and ongoing war were all fine but the way payouts are worked out is what I am questioning.

The payout was as follows,

[background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]Nothing corny pls [background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]defeated [/background][background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]Mortal Warlords[/background]
[background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]in a ranked war.[/background][/background]
[background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]
[/background]
  • Nothing corny pls ranked up from Gold to Gold I and received 4,563 bonus respect, 1,506 points, 2x Medium Arms Cache, 2x Melee Cache, 4x Small Arms Cache
  • Mortal Warlords remained at Silver III and received 1,124 bonus respect, 371 points, 1x Medium Arms Cache
The score was [background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]Nothing corny pls [/background][background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]5,007 to Mortal Warlords 2,589[/background][background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]Both sides fought hard and worked for the score they got.

But how is an 8-to-1 cache payout fair in this case?

That does not give anyone the will to fight a war out, instead, it would make factions just not try at all. I think the payouts should be based on effort put into the fight, like the amount of attack made being a big part of it., not just who wins.

What are people's thoughts on this subject?

Please sort out the formatting of this post, it's an eye sore.

You were 14 v 6, so they likely had the underdog bonus.
They were also coming off of a loss, so they would have x2 rewards than normal.
You are in S3, they are in G.

All these things have an effect on the disparity, but you also made ~50m/member for 2 days work

If you were rewarded for losing, what would be the incentive to win?

If your faction is full of members who don't want to enlist because the rewards for losing aren't good enough, I think you need to re-think your recruitment.

Where you get 14 v 6 from, they had more members than us during the war.
We should have been the underdogs, as we have a lower rank, fewer members, and lower stats.
But fighting harder opposition is not the probably and it was over 60 hours of the war.

The point I am making is the pay should be about the effort the teams put in as well as the other factors, otherwise why put in an effort when you get mismatchers? We faced a faction that did nothing and it makes a rather boring war.

Our payout was 667 million
Their payout 3.9 Billion
That is nearly 4 times the amount for the same amount of time put in.

You also fail to calculate the difference in worth of caches. Amount of caches is about 8:1, but take the worth and you get 4:1.

Light reminder that Ranked Wars are for prestige and actual wars rather than rewards. If it isn't worth the effort, don't make the effort.

You lost. You basically got participation awards which really i dont think anyone should. If you lose i think you should get nothing, so consider yourself lucky.

a cache farm didnt make enough caches ohh noes.

you have 14 members, you are in silver not gold(so you get less), and frankly 2500 respect isnt alot overall, with the exception of your top guy, the rest of you only did like 11-14 attacks which in the grand scheme of things isnt a whole lot,

granted your target was low but thats a side effect of having smaller factions.

Back in the days we used to fight in ranked wars and there was no payout. Just bonus respect for winners and bragging rights.

Nowadays some compalins they didn't get paid enough after losing a war.

Lol, we’ve all had some of those the last year. Feeling gutted after a loss is inevitable and a good dose of FOMO and jealousy hits you when you see what you lost out on…. But that is it- You lost. Get over it and win the next one.

OP - this is purely a post showing greed. Look at your past war against folkvangr - clicky

Some metrics for you:
Rank (Bronze 1 to Silver 1) - you are 1 whole rank ahead
Attacks 372 to 483 - Your team put in 30% more attacks lets call this "effort"
RP (1399 to 2986) - your team got 113% more RP
# of Caches (1 to 4) your team got 300% more caches
Cache Value (400m to 3b) your team got 650% more value

I think you need to compare your war against 'Nothing Corny pls' to your war against 'Folkvangr'. If you want your "case" to stand, you should have posted back in the day when you got way more rewards than your opponent.. its a 2 way street.

Dont be Greedy... Learn from the war and be happy you got something for your "effort"
