The leaders in China are a danger to their own people. We had lockdowns in the west but saw you cant print money forever.

In the UK we will be paying the covid bill in higher taxes and less public services for 100 years probably. China are still locking down .... utter madness.

when folks protest in china, the local authorities cave very consistently.

what happened after grenfell? what was changed? nothing

as the article itself states, the caving in this instance is immediate; they're reducing the lockdowns.

feel free to spin this as if it's about the cpc, but the reality is these folks are just asking for less strict policies for covid. and they'll get them.

i again ask folks here to pause on their demands for china to embrace covid like the west has. cases may be on the rise there, but they've yet to compare in severity to even canada, nevermind america or europe.

the reality is obvious at this point. china went with safety and pulled all the stops to protect their people, and haven't crumbled economically as was predicted by every masturbatory sweaty western columnist. the west went with profit, yet now suffer deep recessions and a dying workforce, and has completely given up on and abandoned its poor and vulnerable.

there's nothing wrong with this protest. the people are right to be angry. their demands will be heard. those with power who f**ked up will be punished. justice will be had.

could we ever say the same here, for any protest?

this is why the chinese people understand they live in a strong democracy.

lol indeed. i'm sure china will collapse any day now

any day now

any day now...

any day now......

be sure to hold your breath

About f**king time. They have the highest immunity from vaccines but still lock their people away like sheep...

Tell them to f**k off, they are just controlling their citazins for no reason...

I’m lol’ing at the idea of China being a democracy that will respond positively to protestors demands. Do you get your news from North Korean state tv?

The west went too far on the lockdowns and China said hold my beer and turned their country into a f**king dystopia.

They will respond to these protests like usual- brute force, intimidation, and censorship. Imagine defending the country that kicked out the media and slaughtered who knows how many people in tiananmen square as responsive to protestor demands.

china are super rich and have the entire worlds industry now... .they wont really be paying for anything bad they do as they have a solid enough economy and large enough nation to float and carry on while locking down parts like this and still be in profit.

You do realize that "the industry" is not its own, they are producing there only parts not the whole products, because nobody is trusting the communists and the owners can move it, to another countries like India for example, right ?

No, you are wrong.
Most of the times, I'm glad to have someone speak for China. This time, you are absolutely wrong.
My grandparents have been locked in their apartment for 3 months.

There are protests in Beijing and Shanghai also now. And they are even turning political, which protesters in China usually deliberately avoid. But this doesn't mean there is any threat to the CCP, though I imagine Xi has a really ugly look on his face right about now.
Lenin [2199004]
which part of what i said is wrong? i know there's a lot of issues over how the lockdowns have been handled in some regions, i didn't claim otherwise - that's largely why folks are upset afterall

best wishes for your grandparents

the way i see it, either a few die by inept action, or millions die by negligent inaction. 1-2k people are dying in america each week. half a 9/11, every week, almost three years in.

(not saying this of you) it worries me how much westerners hope for china to face scenes like the body trucks in nyc, or the retirement homes in italy, or the overloaded hospitals and burnt out garbage-bag-clad nurses. it's a discussion china should have, as they actually have that option still, but the agitators in death-worshiping western media can f**k off and look inward

edit: i appreciate that all of torn's worst rightist losers are triggered rn

You mean like the chinese crematorians mass burning the dead in the beginning of covid you really do love sucking communist dick
Collete [1389080]
Dude you one of the dumbest f**ks in here with that communist shit I really do hope one day you move to a communist country you truly deserve to live in one.
Lenin [2199004]
cringe boilerplate thought-terminating low-brain taunt

"if you hate your city so much, why don't you just move to a better city?"

so sorry that china's government isn't letting its people die off like yours has :(

edit: and keep the anon cash to yourself dumbass
Collete [1389080]
Sorry dude Im in Australia and we closed our borders when the covid left china

Though I don't see why people dying in my country would make you smile or is that one of the few things that can get you hard , bad things happening in western countries ?

I have you blocked so no anon money from me you stupid commie wannabe
