The Future

Hello , im gtommo. I guarantee none of you have ever heard of me, as I was taught as a youngin to be wary of places like GD and Global chat. Regardless, i like interacting with the wonderful (and not so wonderful) characters in this city.


Now thats out of the way, on to the topic of the post. Like many others in this city i love it here, and plan on being buried with my phone when I die so I can still log in and pop a xan from the afterlife. This got me thinking though, what do you guys think Torn will be like 10-15 years from now? Will the oldest players still be around? What will it be like for currently younger players like myself, when we are the old ones and all the “ancient” players are still around with trillions, even quadrillions of dollars at their disposal? Will there be players who are 30+ years old still actively playing the game? These are questions that interest me and I thought maybe would interest some others, so discuss below!

Ched will have to keep making changes similar to gym training update which brings newer and older players closer together in terms of time/effort to get somewhere. I suspect he'll be running the power creep in that way similar to how he manages the economy growth creep. Nothing is quite as bad as the creeps on this forum though.

Few years back when the WSSB scandal went down this is exactly what I felt like, people were exploiting insider knowledge and I kinda wished i'd stumble upon an exploit or a cheat so I could catch up. Uhhh can't beat em join em with their means?

Uhh well in my case I didn't find any exploits I just put in some work trading and just 2 days back I got into top 50 battle stats

The truth is simply most people are lazy they'd not spend 30mins a day doing odd jobs or something that's routine that'd make them $$ and that is honestly the edge you'd have over them. Exploit it.

I came back in August after 10 years of inactivity and have made fairly decent progress in the last few months. I plan on still being around in another 10 years, hopefully without another long break in the middle.
