· 1 likes · I am NOT COMPLAINING. I asked TWO questions: Why do people hold levels when there’s obviously benefits to leveling up and whether it’s better to time out or take my beating and go to the hospital. THIS is exactly what …
Curious - what’s the point of holding levels? I’ve been trying to find inactive accounts to help with leveling. Occasionally I’ll find someone close to my level and when I attack them, their stats are jacked. They completely negate my damage and then hit me for like 900 points in the head.
In this case, is it better to take the loss and hospital time or time out?
Then what are you complaining about? If you can't use search effectively then that's a problem in your way of searching for targets. They suggested a way for you to find targets and you found a way to shoot them down.
My suggestion, bold as it may be is to just logout. Torn might not be for you.
The point is they may get defends from people underestimating them (like you did!). Also you're easier to bust from jail at low levels.
A major disadvantage is that they have less life; so it's a personal preference but it's probably not worth it. There are ways to find people's battle stats: any war will have spies.
You can also very roughly guess at a glance based on their medals; the higher levels, and the darker ones are usually harder to get. At your level this may not be too helpful, but once you get used to more attacks it might. Someone's level and age can be deceiving.
Okay, little back story and info. I lvl hold as needed for my battle stats. Try to keep your level near your battle stats in the hall of fame. This is a good way of thinking about it, you don’t wanna be lvl 100 with 1b battle stats but you also don’t wanna be lvl 15 either. Life is considered your 3rd stat, so treat it as such. I recently stopped running RW factions, when I did, there was several that I was extremely out stated by. I was 800m and they would be 2b-5b, fighting is also a lot about strategy. Find what works well for you. I had a war with a lvl 15 lvl holder near 5b battle stats when I was under 1b and I beat him so bad all war long, by the end he lvled up to 85 after almost 15 years of lvl holding! Just do what I mentioned in the beginning and you will be fine. Best of luck and feel free to message me
I level hold only because I reached the perfect level for anyone that can't level up straight to 100 for obvious reasons. The main reason people level hold is exactly to trick people like you into attacking them thinking you'll have the advantage. Level alone means very little in this game, extensions like TornTools will estimate any player's battle stats for you based on rank triggers so you can more easily tell the level holders from the rest of the player base, and if you really want to just make your own list I recommend keeping a notepad document with all your Duke mission targets (most recent target to the top of the list) as you will not only face players around your level but you will maximize your respect gains fighting these players. It is important to keep this list updated, since as you train you will gradually earn less and less respect from them so with that in mind if your list starts getting too long just trim off the bottom, leave yourself 50 or so names. These targets will almost always be out of hospital, close to the max respect you can earn per hit and specifically chosen by the game to be accounts you can beat.
I asked two questions. That’s not complaining. People like you are why people like me don’t post in forums or ask for help. All I said was I like to find my own targets so now the game isn’t for me so I should quit… okay.
From my understanding, players generally level hold so enemies will underestimate them and lose to them when attacking, it's also cheaper to bail out a low level player, Think most people that do this tho will be around level 15 so they can travel. Take this with grain of salt tho since im not 100% sure if this is the reason why people do it.
Thank you. I was just curious if there was some advantage to holding that I was missing. I also don’t think I ended up in the hospital for timing out. At least it wasn’t in the log.
It is, I’ve gotten many free defends. But it also comes at a loss. When having more health, you last longer in fights. 1 extra lvl may give you that extra little health to stay in the fight and get that crit for the win! It all has its advantages and disadvantages.
