I feel it's a bit restricting to NOT be able to choose a company name that's already in-use BUT isn't an active company.

My proposal is as follows:

What defines an inactive company:
- Inactive director (over 100 days inactive) - This condition should eventually also catch the directors who are in federal jail permanently.

What I propose could be the new name of those inactive companies:
- I'd suggest naming them "Inactive#{COMPANY_ID}" e.g. Inactive#999999
- Also, ensure that companies can be renamed to a string starting with "Inactive" or "Inactive#" ONLY by the system and NOT by the directors.

Other naming conventions could be:
"#{COMPANY_ID}" e.g.#999999 and ensure that "#" can be used for renaming companies ONLY by the system and NOT by the directors.
Adapted from Kvitka [2488283]'s idea

This idea can possibly be extended to Factions / Destroyed Factions as well.

Yeah,i would agree. So many 0 star afk companies with good names.
Also i think no need to add Inactive, just ID in the name. And obviously director needs to pay to take the name.

I was just trying to suggest a possible solution with the inactive names :D
But yours is also a good idea as well. As long as no one write random IDs as their company name lol

Or maybe just "#COMPANY_ID" e.g. #999999 and don't allow "#" to be part of company names (if that's not already the case)

It should essentially be the same rules as they have for inactive players. Maybe with some tweaks to the time and payment scales, but the idea is basically the same.

Yeah maybe adding a time factor to it would be cool too! Quite similar to how the player name change works.
Currently you can change the company name as often as you like, as far as I know.
