With the NPCs selling a basically unlimited number of card skimmers at way below market value (first at about $5k when the price was about $15k) and now at $850 when the market price was about $2k), what is even the point of having a market if it's going to be manipulated so blatantly?

Anyone who's speculated on these being more valuable once more crimes are released is going to be well annoyed.

(Full disclosure, I've bought a load of these now, but I'm mainly into bank statements, and I'll be well annoyed if NPCs turn up with box-loads of these prior to fraud crimes dropping)

Not that it'll make any difference whatsoever, but what would be the proper channel to vent my frustrations? Other than stop playing, which isn't going to happen.

The NPCs are saturating the market and undercutting all the people who thought they could buy up the availability to control the market

Better luck next time dildos

When Shoplifting came out, Jimmy listed 5000 Card Skimmers at $30k, I believe it was probably to gradually taper the prices.

From a gameplay POV it makes sense, to make a crime accessible you need to make the things needed for the crime to be easily available, you can't expect someone to shell out 15-30k everytime they want to do a crime.

Your Card Skimmers will be lost if they get caught, so you will have to frequently get new ones - having them cheaply available solves that.

I don’t even see a negative to this, the people trying to scem are getting f**ked so how is this a bad thing for anyone but those people

almost as shitty as muggers tbh

Full disclosure, happened to me too but I only invested around 300m into them (literally worth like 100k now xD) because I had a feeling this would happen after the situation with the high speed drives. It's just the opportunity cost of making money, like failing a buymug.

I just hope this remains the case for all future crimes to release at least, so there's a consistent approach.

you can always refund them if you are unhappy with the price you paid, just send them back to the npc you bought them from and they will send you your money back. worked for me!

You play long enough in the markets, you get burned at some point. Inevitable. Whether it’s of your own market mistakes or the game changes or major game changes that drastically change supply demand in something, everyone gets market burned at some point.

It would be neat if supply was actually limited and the market could find a equilibrium.

I assume gas cans will be used in auto crimes, arson, and bomb making. They can be stolen at bits and bobs. New players can make money off stealing them to support older players with more money who dont want to do 4 nerve theft.

Or we can just load up 2 million on the NPCS.
