So I see that inventory and items do not work. Ang other way to get a list of my current items? Or just need to keep them in my display case?

Impossible to access your inventory via the API.
You could always use a userscript to scrape the data from the page, but you have to manually load up the items page and scroll all the way to the bottom which is largely impractical.
Apparently the inventory selection will return in the first half of this year.

I opened a bug here so we can have at least the equipped items: https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=19&t=16363000&b=0&a=0&start=0&to=24036168, because it was a breaking change.

im curious if there is a way to get the items a defender has as well because when you attack you can see that as well as stat bonuses
