EDIT: Rookie mistake not having mods actually equipped on each loadout!

Having just seen this thread it reminded me of an annoyance I have.

I think the ability to make the weapon mods "sticky". I.E making the mods stay with the weapon whether it's equipped or not, until* you physically unequip them would be a decent QoL improvement.

*Ohadik suggested an improvement below which I fully agree with: Having the mods be in a "pool" where it can be applied to any weapon (much as it is now) without the automatic unequipping when swapping loadouts/weapons. But retaining the ability to attach them by directly transferring from one weapon to another.

Edit. To expand further. If for example you have a RW Assassinate that you only use Hair trigger and Laser on and you switch to another weapon which you only ever equip sight and light on.
As it stands it requires multiple operations.

If the mods were sticky to the weapons it would alleviate this completely.

It's a PITA for anyone with more than one loadout switching back and forth removes the mods and puts them in limbo until re-equipped.

Over to you Torn, what say you?

Can you refine your suggestion and go into more details? Like it's physically stuck to the weapon unless you detach it yourself? Or would you still be able to switch weapons and apply the mods to the new weapon?

If they are stuck to a gun until unequipped, I have to give this a big fat R-... If they are just temporarily stuck, but you can still switch guns and apply them to the new gun without having to go back to unequip them from the old one, i'd be okay with this.

That's a good point.

Having the mods be in a "pool" where it can be applied to any weapon (much as it is now) without the automatic unequipping when swapping loadouts/weapons is a great tweak to the initial idea.

Thanks.

Not sure if you're looking for this answer, but loadouts takes care of that, and they're just 50 points each one so they're not that expensive.

Yup, what Kas said. If you set up your load outs properly it’s just a single operation. With your suggestion, the mods would have to be unattached when returning weapons to faction armoury, then reattached when loaned. Right now I can loan myself a weapon, switch to the load out that it’s in, and the weapon is already equipped with the mods I want.
