Them removing the pawn show points is likely a way to balance out the money maker OC2, at least I hope it will be an option to make money. (could even be related to points)

It's because people have panicked and decided to sell for less; that is not on the change that is on y'all for panicking. They already said they will add different ways to use points; anybody with a brain knows to store points until then.
Anyone with a brain knows when torn says they will do something or add something we are looking at years if not never happening. You look like you've been around torn a while so you should know. The only things torn does right away is Nerf or remove things. Nothing is ever changed or added for the better on time. We see how long it took for chat 2.0 to finally come out and how many months it took to make it usable. We see how long crimes 2.0 took and it is still not fully out neither is OC. He has been talking for months about changing the item market system and we have not even come close to it yet.
They say a lot of things they will add. In just about every single game and in any part of life, you don't change or remove something without putting right away in place the replacement that you promise. And in Torrance case, they have a terrible track record.
Regarding the crash and price of points, there is definitely some level of panic selling, but that's not the reason the price is going down. Anyone with a brain understands the basic rules of economics. There is supply and demand. With points being unable to be sold to the pawn shop, there is a surplus of points that need to be sold now. There are people that need money ASAP who waited for a museum day to cash out but now can't so are being forced to sell at a reduced price. Not everyone is like you and I who can hold on to things for months to not lose.
Another reason the price is crashing is because there is no stabilizer. No one knows what the price should or will be. Most likely it will not go back up to 45,000. We have seen in the past what happens the plushies when they tank in price Just look at the camois and how that never went back up in price. It will find a price and then hold but it will never go back to the price it once was on average..
Until they add something more to do with points, the price will keep crashing which is the main problem everyone is complaining about. The fact they removed something without replacing it with something else. Until then, the supply will be too much to meet the demand which will continue to cause the reduction in price.
And to end it off, it's just hilarious how every single person who I am coming across defending this either owns or works in a PSF or an oil rig. There's no way it's coincidence
They also said they would fix chat 2.0, year later it's still broke. And it took 10 years for crimes 2.0 to be released devs move at a snails pace and points are going to continue tanking hard if a sink isn't introduced within a short period.
And who is to say new points use won't be absolute shit like happy refill, your not only banking on a fast solution but also one that will take 3T worth of points out of circulation yearly to maintain current value. Your better off to get your money out now and re invest somewhere else (and not In property, which looks like is about to get decimated by upkeep increases)
It sounds like a bunch of excuses to panic sell. If you invest so much of your money into a single thing, well, that is just stupid, and I advise you to stop now. Since this is Torn, I can promise you this is not the last nerf we will see to our economy. Try buying some stocks, doing RWs while still flying for points, etc. This is a long-term game; if you are not prepared to hold onto your stuff for a little while when things like this happen... I honestly have no answers for you.
Yes, they do. However, this game also moves at a snail's pace; if you are not prepared for that, I advise you to find a new game.
I can almost guarantee you the point sink will be shit. However, folks love to buy shit in this game. We have folks collecting and spending money on the dumbest shit possible... I'm sure there is a market for anything if you wait and hunt them down. I advise just running Xanax if you are just determined to fly for your income.
Indeed, it does sound like they are about to mess up the property market next. This will hurt many folks and close another one of my backup plans. That is how the game goes. You gotta roll with the punches and learn to adapt. Bitching and complaining will do absolutely nothing for you.
Hear hear! Old hats know how hard it was back in the day. Torn is easy street these days!
just gotta make sure folks know the Devs will NEVER listen to the community.
Bogie doesn't care about the community; he has said this many times now.
Ched doesn't care as long as he gets his money.
So when there is a change, you have 2 choices, roll with it or annoy folks with a million threads crying about the same thing.
Well as I said in the middle of my lo my comment, this does not really affect me. Yes, I bought plushies a couple weeks before museum day below market price to trade in enough points to supply me for the year. Yes, my net worth went down about 130 million, but I was already prepared to spend that much on points for the year before the points crashed so it doesn't bother me that much. I also don't travel like I used to only if I'm going to be out a while so I travel because why not it's free money.
My bigger issue is the way it was done and that torn keeps doing these things. At least you are not ignorant like many others who just keep talking about how good things are coming because"ched said so". I just don't think a change like this should have been done the way they did it, the time they did it, and without implementing the ways to make money as they claim they want to.
My main point of the comment was that this is less about panic selling and more about too much supply. This would have happened regardless of them removing points from the p awn store. Just like every year, there's a surplus of points after museum day that people are trying to sell for the lowest price possible to get rid of them. The difference is now with no stabilizer of the pawn store, The price will continue to plummet until the surplus is done. There are probably people panic selling just like IRL in the stock market where people don't know what the bottom will be and they are scared it will be very low. But I believe the majority of people selling are just trying to get rid of their points and it's this low because of the removal not because of panic.
Points are down, even if it stabilizes and remains at 40,000 the pop, plushies will eventually stabilize around that price point as well. Will flying be as profitable? No, but it will still be the best option for new players who have zero net worth and it will still be a decent amount of money. But I don't agree with the decision to do this at the time they did it and the way they did it and I already know, as you said, they are going to screw up the property taxes as well as who knows what else.
I agree that the way they handled it was absolutely trashy, and that just goes to show how little the idiots in charge care about anybody playing the game. Heck, the community manager has already said he doesn't care about the community a few times.
easy? yes the first time you get Chedded
still easy the second time
and the third
get the picture?
RIP to the bagholder that bought my crop tops for 20m/ea
