Looking for RP

Hey all,

Long time writer/RPer, new to Torn. I usually write in short form or paragraph length, depending on what the scene calls for. Although, I am flexible and can write novella length (just don't expect quick replies). Here is a sample of my shortform writing:

Ash's teeth grind down onto the wood lip piece of the black&mild, and they stand up. They step toward Faye and stand over her. It looks like they're about to say something. Then they click their tongue and look away. a long exhale of smoke exiting their nostrils. "I never shoulda let you go," They look back to Faye, voice soft and eyes warm and filled with a love that never left.

I'd prefer to write about life in Torn, though can be persuaded for other topics.

Welcome Ash!  Happy to have you here.  There are several story lines, such as Wood's Tavern, where you can jump in without knowing the full history.  Forum posts are turn-based, and often not in real time.  It can take a bit for a response, but hang in there.  Many a fine writer to be found here.  Feel free to look around, and start your own RP thread if you have a specific story in mind.  Also check out the OOC thread to get to know some of the others in the RP fam.  Nice to meet you! :)

Thank god, I don't need to know the full history. I started reading from all the way from the beginning to catch up with Wood's Tavern LMAO! Do you have any particular favorite threads, or ones good for newbies, or ones you'd like to see more action in? I'll see about checking those out first and foremost.

Yeah, y'all are talented folks! I will admit to calling this forum lackluster on first blush, because it's so quiet... But, when y'all do post, it's always something worthwhile :) . So, apologies for ever thinking less.

Thanks for directing me back to the OOC Thread... I thought most of the OOC talk was going to be on a Discord server or something ^^; .

Welcome. You are always welcome to join in any rp, although many are pretty much abandoned. You're equally welcome to start your own rp. Just give the story line information necessary for others to join and set the boundaries of what is acceptable where it comes to both straying off the story line path and the features of the characters like magic, weaponry, etc. When preferred you can add a character template as well.  People will join when the setup and the story appeals to them.

Thank you, Skellington! For now, I've written a response to Wood's Tavern. I'll think on what topic to DM on a new forum thread. Do you know if people around here favor any particular genre or themes?

I don't think subject is the most important. As long as you have a good background story and a decent story line to follow people will join. If you look at what the most successful stories here are, it has something to do with either fantasy, sci-fi or some form of warfare. But anything goes, really. Torn itself is a favored subject as well.
