Yeah except the old system sucked for sellers. You still get that system EXPANDED with item market 2. Top of the list=cheaper.

If thats all youre looking for then you have nothing to complain about. If you want to try scouring for better deals, then check bazaars. Oh, and ofc theres the bazaars that sell in bulk instead of just dumping items from flying. Which do have a demand, you know.

Youd be surprised how much people enjoy having a consistent seller to buy from, where they can go to there store and almost always find what they need. And the time you dont spend looking for different individual sellers at the lowest possible price, the MORE time you spend making money. Which saves you money overall, if youre smart about it

CockyNudist [2209950]

I 100% agree. I think I see what ched is going for, and it will never work as long as traders can be mugged while offline. Nobody in the game can't be mugged, so nobody can set up a permanent bazaar and actually keep it stocked. It's the difference between an rpg where there are safe and unsafe zones, and torn where you're a target anywhere, anytime, even offline.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

Thats why its useful to have a directory of multiple different bazaars.

If bazaar A is sold out or closed,  with enough due diligence you would ideally have a possible bazaar B/C and so forth as necessary to choose from, giving you a network of different traders and sellers that you are a customer of due to pricing, availability and stock at the time you need it.

If you can find as much of what you want the cheapest on the market, good on you. But building an active list of traders to go to for necessary items as a buyer is always the smartest move anyway, whether buying from bazaar or direct trade.

The_Diceman [2664843]

Directory rubbish. The idea of trading specialists/communities is of no value to 99% of players.TornW3B (or equvalent)  is the way forward.

PastorJason [2520656]

Theres no search function like that... the search where u type in an item, gives u a couple supppsed bazaars that in most cases font have item your looking for.

Just need item market search functionality,  for bazaar directory.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

Then just use the item market? Or try check in with the bazaar owner, to see if they're online and can restock or trade with you?

The search function gives you a general idea of who sells what goods most often. Its up to you to do the looking it takes to find the best deal. Im not sure why so many people are this mad about the fact that "the best deal" takes some actual effort and nuance to be able to find.

Rover [2686246]

Careful now, you're almost suggesting that people should play the massively mutiplayer online game they signed up for and starting potentially communicating with other people.

Beerstein [1322136]

Cool. So do I, that's why I use W3avers script and get that lowest price instantly on any and every buy.

Cheapest everything on Torn in 1 click here. Thanks for the pitch anyway!

1 min reading/installing 0 API, cheapest everything forever. Keep bouncing around Bazaars if you want because you "want the cheapest" the rest of us will simply grab the cheapest 100% of the time with 0 time spent after the initial install.

Time to set up:

  • <1 min if you have used other scripts
  • 5 min if you need to learn to install Tampermonkey or similar
  • 1 min if you care to read the instructions or sell stuff

Time to use until end-days as long as it's supported: 0

Cost: 0

Time to search bazaars for the best deal through native features: 5+ min with 0 guarantee you get the cheapest....WTF are you even trying to argue here?

You’re arguing a losing battle with the masses… good luck if you keep trying :)

Tentacles made a nice post about it page 5

Yes, from a gameplay perspective the "vision" could be interesting. But there already are tools and they will only become more popular, that make it easy for every user to find exactly what you do not want - the cheapest prices on bazaars for the one item they are looking for.

You are handicapping some portion of players that won't ever use third party tools, and you are creating someopportunity for active traders, but the widest impact is pushing players who don't necessarily want to install more scripts or go to different sites to do exactly that. And in the end they will do it, if the alternative is to window shop your "bazaar directory" like sheep.

I understand you don't want this feature to be in the buyers best interest, or in the casual sellers interest, but if they have no incentive to use it and better alternatives exist what do you think will happen.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

Because im not a dick-rider who just goes with "the masses" without thinking. I also dont consider the forums to be "the masses" because it really does only represent a VERY MINOR portion of torns population.

I also dont think every update needs to be tailored to "the masses". Bazaars work perfectly now as a middleground for someone to run their own personal store without having to get into the nitty-gritty of trading. Theres no reason for *every* mechanic to be tailored to *every* player. Bazaars are being used on a more niche trading scale to turn operating one into an actual gameplay mechanic, not a quick-sell item dump.

Just because youre loud doesn't mean youre right. Falling victim to mob mentality doesnt make you right either, it just means you never figured out how to think for yourself

Rover [2686246]

When floods of script users shop at a specific bazaar, and me, as a non script user see those bazaars in the "trending" category, is that what makes me the bazaar directory "sheep"?

Why shouldn't I, as a non script user just consider that the directory working as intended?

I think I'm missing something there probably.

Abetting [2016807]

We are mad because we had it and it was taken away. It's that simple.

Nobody cares about having "their guy" they shop from, in the vast majority of cases, if they find prices better somewhere else, "their guy" is old news.

We don't need brand loyalty, we want what we already HAD to be brought back.

Hell they could bring it back but make it so that bazaar owners have to pay a fee, similar to advertising costs, or allow the stock block to cover it, in order for their bazaar to show on the search. I'm willing to bet that bazaar owners would gladly pay advertising fees to be listed on the old system.

Idk why you think it sucked for sellers, you could move product virtually instantaneously if you weren't trying to sell for crazy high profit, and buyers are happy because they save time and get cheaper goods. How in the hell does this system punish anyone in your eyes?

And at the end of the day, there is always going to be a difference between players wanting something they don't have because it sounds cool, and wanting something they already had, that got removed, back.

ThaWh1teSki7tle [2201418] Reporter

Thats great for you, but not everyone uses scripts for every little thing and some of us actually enjoy playing the game and interacting within its community. im all for w3 and his script but it doesn't do much for me as a bazaar seller whos trying to run a consistent business selling items. This bazaar directory actually helps benefits shop owners and doesnt just give people an all-in-one shortcut to jump to someone whos just dumps items in bazaar to quick sell, as thats what the item market is for

Beerstein [1322136]

When all torn but staff and 2 people are on one side it's you that's dickriding staff homeslice not the entire community dickriding eachother.

Big everyone is wrong but me vibes. Read the room, or just read. Trying to say something that's clearly worse is better because if you put a lot of time in you can probably almost get as good of results sometimes is straight up delusional.

Abetting [2016807]

The only thing that would make me agree with your stance on the Item market is if it sent your money to the bank and you couldn't be mugged.

Why the hell would I want to take the same risks whilst being forced to sell higher, and thus slower, to cover fees and get less because of fees.

If bazaars are the "brick and mortar" version of shopping in Torn them the item market is the online version, so how does it make sense that you can sell something online, pay fees for "convenience" and then still be forced to self hosp or risk being buy mugged?

You dont get to have it both ways, the same way you are arguing that we don't.

Beerstein [1322136]

Oh it doesn't benefit you as a seller? Okay, good luck not getting undercut on everything you sell without knowing you were undercut lol.

Hopslam [795412]

Im not sure why so many people are this mad about the fact that "the best deal" takes some actual effort and nuance to be able to find.

End of the day… finding the “best deal” doesn’t take any effort at all. It takes installing and using a script.  And for those of is that don’t or choose not to, like Tentacles said… it’s “handicapping some portion of players that won't ever use third party tools”

Scurra [2074333]

Because you'll never know if you're buying from the cheapest bazaar. You're buying from the bazaar that at some point in the past was the cheapest bazaar. Script users moved on to the next cheapest bazaar and are guaranteed that it's the cheapest at that moment.
