I ain't usually no karma farming gooner, but I couldn't turn down this potential opportunity. After finding this addiction passion around 2.5 years ago and 4000 degenerate hours staring at the profiles of charitable individuals who were nice enough to offer the opportunity to take 7.5-15% of their money on hand later, I have managed to achieve the milestone of $100,000,000,000 torn city dot com dollars mugged.
Now you may be thinking 'wow mr eddycon, thats so cool. how did you do it?'. Well, I would first like to give a BIG thank you to all the passionate gamers who enjoy the hobby that is Russian Roulette. Without you I would not have gotten all of these big numbers on my screen (and wallet) along with the free dopamine hits, so for that I salute you. I would also like to send my appreciation to those who gave me large discounts on the items I was buying off of them for the small cost of 25e.
Highlights
Usually when starting off with mugging you pick the most obvious option which is buy mugging. There are still plenty of people which truly don't understand the grind when it comes to this side of the game. The endless stakeouts, sitting on profiles for hours, and the feeling of despair if after all the time spent you have no $ to show for it. An example of a typical buy mug where the target is timing out of hospital can be seen below, this is the type of setup I used for a lot of mine.
A mugger's first $1,000,000,000 mug is like a rite of passage, below you can see what mine looked like. This was a classic, mugging the target upon leaving hospital with the expectation that they're gonna be listing a new RR game. In this case, the hobbyist wanted to play a 10b game and I mugged them before they managed to list the game (I use a second monitor to see the RR games listed). This was back at the start of 2023, nowadays these kinds of mugs are certainly more rare due to the prevalence of 'fast RR scripts' which make starting a game as easy as clicking one button multiple times.
I would also like to show my thanks for the existence of execute, allowing me to mug over 250x my stats (after rolling mela and epi):
18:54:26 - 13/07/24 You used 25 energy attacking Proxima and mugged them for $710,400,000 (chain #5) [view]
19:14:18 - 14/07/24 You used 25 energy attacking Proxima and mugged them for $836,999,999 (chain #3) [view]
12:11:54 - 16/07/24 You used 25 energy attacking Proxima and mugged them for $834,000,000 (chain #5) [view]
you're welcome for the free stat spy x
Along with an excerpt from the discord thread I use to track my own mugs:
A more typical RR mug is done after compiling a list of frequent players of the time (previously using the enemies list, but now targets) and essentially guessing who is playing who. Below you can see an example of a 'RR game complete hold mug' (rolls off the tongue) which is done by hitting the target down to 1hp, clicking on the profile of the player you think they are playing against, spamming F5 to refresh their profile over and over, praying that they shoot themselves in the foot, all while hovering over the mug button ready to press mug, as seen below:
Although these opportunities come few and far between, I managed to hit another mug essentially identically to the one shown above less than 10 minutes after:
14:40:30 - 23/03/25 You used 25 energy anonymously attacking Fjord and mugged them for $1,894,000,000 (chain #1) [view]
14:48:31 - 23/03/25 You used 25 energy anonymously attacking Fjord and mugged them for $1,972,000,000 (chain #2) [view]
It is still frequently the norm to sit in the player's loader instead of hitting them straight away, completing the same steps, only that you start hitting once you suspect the game has completed, but a lot of players these days are quick to bank, so sometimes the 1s difference can be a deal breaker.
The mug that made me cut down on my habits (slightly) was ironically my highest value mug to date (which used the same method as my first 1b+ mug). It was after this mug that I felt I had beat the game, I had just smashed through the 69b mugged mark (nice) netting 10b mugged in 10 days, which is by far my best streak yet. I felt like I'd peaked, but I had something that eventually got me going again, 100b mugged and the endless pursuit of numbers go up - which as somebody who suffers from completionism is basically an eternal prison sentence, forever locked within the confines of this game.
Here is small breakdown of the size/number of mugs I have achieved:
| Size of Mug | Number of Mugs |
| 100m+ | 214 |
| 250m+ | 106 |
| 500m+ | 34 |
| 1b+ | 7 |
What's Next?
Now that I'm here, my goals shift once more. My new focus is attaining 100b networth, now you might be asking 'with 100b mugged, how not 100b NW?'. Unfortunately, I have spent over 20b on cans/fhcs, lost money from selling items at a loss after buy mugs, and splitting large mugs with others which in combination has resulted in me not meeting my 100b NW goal at a close or similar time, so for now the mugging must continue, even if at a reduced rate.
Appreciation Section
I have two people in particular that I'd like to thank who have inspired and motivated me to continue down this path. I would first like to say a big thank you to my in-game spouse intruder [2518373] who got me into this whole mugging thing at the very end of 2022 and has helped achieve many of these large mugs through coordinated buys/attacks/revives. It was the realisation that we could simply buy things from people and mug them after which propelled us forward. Also a big thank you to our good friend keter [2518801] (known as Pringle from the discord picture) who we eventually managed to convince to start mugging after seeing the profits we were making, and later helped with the coordination of attacks similarly, helping net our 'triple threat' mugs such as our famous 15b RR timeout mug.
I would also like to thank many members of the mugging community, who's names I won't speak as a lot of them are still in active duty and I do not want to jeopardize their missions, you all know who you are and thank you for keeping the loaders and chat interesting :)
And with that I conclude my magnum opus, thank you citizens of torn for reading and playing. You are what make this game fun
