i have a question and sorry if it's stupid, cannot find an answer:

Riot body armor has 20% decreased incoming melee damage. does this apply for the specific body part or entire body (legs, etc) ?

again, sorry if it's already answered but could not find anything .

also, another thing about armor, how does quality affect the stats?

is there a big difference between 5% quality and 25% quality?

Warriordud [3177526]

almost every weapon and piece of armor has a range of what the stats can be on it, for weapons that's damage and accuracy and for armor it's the armor value

the quality is a measure of where on that range your item falls, for example if a piece of armor had a range of 10 armor to 20 armor, a 15 armor piece would be 50% quality

weapons are similar, but the accuracy and damage isn't affected by the quality, the quality is an average of the two stats

Clumsy-Wolf [3158025]

With RW armor at least, every 20% quality = 1% armor. Each armor point means 1% less incoming damage. A 50 armor piece would deflect 50% of incoming damage etc

Elifez [2515801]

the armor piece bonus works only for hits landed in that specific area (also look at the coverage of armor items to see what it covers). Equipping a full RW set the bonus will also increase by a percentage (for riot as an example it's 10%).

https://wiki.torn.com/wiki/Armor contains a lot of useful information about armor.

ArttiIsGod [1954421] Wiki Contributor

50% accuracy contributes to quality and 50% damage contributes to quality in that specific weapon range, for the armor it is 100% of armor defensive value.

so if I have an armor with this :

  • Quality:

    0.40%Yellow

is it not stopping any damage?

didn't look at that sta so far , i'm starting to read the wiki just that I don't quite get how it stacks up.

yes! thanks, i got it now.

i also read the wiki and thanks for all your patience, this is good to know since I was trying to make a choice based on incomplete info, now I know!

Edit:

I also thought that quality is something that decays over time, i'm playing a game where quality drops and you can repair the item.
