I'm really, really curious to hear how the trump fans and maga folks here felt this went. Cause I really see no way how this could be percieved as positive in any way. 

It was obvious that there were attempts to humiliate each other from both sides, but I'd say Putin won in every imaginable way. From the speeches they held to how he carried himself. They had set Putin's mic to be very low so he had to bend over a bit to use it. While Trump's was ridiculoulsly far up (and Trump wearing his lift shoes), and Putin's stand having the american seal on it. Putin won this by just not giving a shit, not adjusting the mic, and laughing his ass off at this childish attempt and looking superior in any way. After delivering an eloquent speech, which Trump followed up with some ramblings of an elderly guy with brain damage and a limited vocabulary. Trump's attempts to flatter the russian delegation were among the worst cringe I ever saw. And Putin owned him with the invite to Moscow once again. Lavrov wore a sweater with "USSR" printed on it. Shameful day. I never saw an american leader being that humiliated on an international stage. Never saw one kiss a war criminals ass this submissively. And no deal was struck. NOTHING was achieved. Trump said time and time again if he talked with Putin, the war would be over instantly. Within days of his presidency even. And now? He was not able to get even a SINGLE concession out of him that he could have presented. 

His fans like Trump because they think he's "tough" or a "strong man" or whatever, so how do they feel about him being paraded as a clown like this? And him being an impotent nothingburger instead of a deal-maker who achieved not a single thing? 

I know my words are a bit harsh, but tbh you know my opinion anyway, so there's no use in pretending. So please don't let that deter you from voicing your opinion. While I may disagree with your opinion, I assume you have reasons for thinking otherwise (if you do, that is) and I'd be REALLY curious to hear them.

I mean, I saw the Trump lovers turn around a 100% on Ukraine before because Trump said so. Don't expect miracles here lol.

Why would Putin take anything Trump has to say seriously? Even though Putin is old he can outwait Trump. Trump is out the door in a few years.

He tried and failed, but at least he tried. It wasn't a "Putin won this" situation, there was nothing to lose by Trump talking and trying to broker a peace deal in person. Everyone else wants the bloodshed to continue, and for what? What is Europe doing? Hiding and crying hoping the war continues. Putin and Zelenski are both stubborn bastards as their countrymen die for their ego's but yeah, blame Trump cuz Trump's bad?

Putin won because this gives him legitimacy and a talking point. 

When it goes no where he can go back to the Russians and say we tried everything to stop the war but the evil west wants it to continue. 

Everyone wants the war to end, they just don’t want it to end with a Putin victory because they know that just emboldens Putin and leads to war. And when I say everyone I am of course excluding Trump his cabinet and his brain dead supporters that listen to the word of Trump as if it’s the words of the lord sent from heaven. 

This is why you don’t elect a failed businessman made reality TV star to goverment. Because as it turns out geo-politics is hard. 

Yeah man, can't have peace talks because it'll give them talking points. That's so stupid. The war has been going on for four years, hundreds of thousands if not millions of people have been killed or maimed by this point and your worried about talking points or giving Putin a domestic W like his propaganda machine isn't making him out to be gods gift to mankind? That's ridiculous, this was a hail mary attempt at strongarming peace and Trump is being denigrated for trying it? It's not stupid, it's optimistic. He should be praised for TRYING! Nobody is trying to end the war.

The whole thing is stupid. Russia will never fight another war of aggression again after how bad this one turned out so saying that ending the war on his terms will lead to more war is stupid. This has been a disaster for Russia. Something has to change to end the war and I'm happy that there are people like Trump who don't want to just sit on their hands and throw arms and weapons at it. The guy sees the human cost for what it is, a waste.

Well the real question will be, will Putin see any consequences for continuing the war?

Others tried too, and had more success via sanctions and support for Ukraine. Under Trump Putin keeps pushing and gaining. Putin definitely "won", because the world saw Trump kiss his ass. This will strengthen his position with asian and african and south american countries and of BRICS in general. Which again directly harms the "west", aka the USA. 

NOBODY wants the bloodshed to contiue. Not even Putin. He just wants to take over the whole country asap and while he doesn't mind the bloodshed much, it is getting expensive at this point. 

Europe is too scared. But they need to step up. Because Putin is very clear that he will not stop at Ukraine. Same way he didn't stop after the other invasions he started. 

What has this to do with "Zelenskis ego"? Were french people dying during resisting Hitler's invasion all just dying for "de Gaulle's ego"? 

Wtf is wrong with you? Putin invaded Ukraine, unprovoked, TWICE. Resisting the invasion of an autocratic country in which people constantly "fall out of windows" and free speech is a fairy tale is not "being stubborn". It is being brave. Ukrainians DO NOT WANT TO LIVE in the shithole place that russia is. What is Zelenski's option to not be "stubborn"? Just give the whole of Ukraine up to Putin? Against the will of the inhabitants?

Georgia is next. Putin already created Crimea 2.0 in Georgia and has stationed troops there to "protect" the people who "want to be russian". Hitler did the same btw at the startof WW2. 

Romania will come after that. Or maybe Lithuania, Estnia and Latvia. European countries (and the USA to some extent) are under attack from russian troll armies, hackers and sabotage agents since decades. Trump doing 1:1 appeasement politics from WW2 is the absolutely wrong answer to this aggression. And the meme that "both sides are to blame" is the ultimate brainrot. This is a giant trying to curbstomp a toddler. The war ends immediately if Putin stops. If Ukraine stops, Putin will just continue. 

All we can hope for is that Putin dies. Like all dictators he has no clear successor. Cause having a clear successor is dangerous due to them speeding up the succeeding. That means if Putin dies, Russia will be the Thunderdome and all his  goons will fight each other in a huge chaos. There will be no way they can keep up their invasion that way.

The idea of ending the war is the people of Russia need the war to end. If you give Russia a propaganda win for free then, yes that is indeed bad.

Russia is preparing for other military actions as we speak. They still have their military foothold in Georgia and meddle in Romania and claim the Baltics. They follow a doctrine that says they need to get back all ex USSR states and more. Their whole society is programmed towards war and conquest. They WANT the war. Just like germans yelled "YES!" when Hitler asked them if they wanted total war. Russian society is highly militaristic and despises "weakness". They feel the urge to "get back" at the west or the world because they are not the empire anymore they used to be. They have no proper insight into how other countries are because their internet is HEAVILY censored. And dissenting news media just get shut down / their journalists literally murdered. Putin CAN'T just end the wars also due to the monster he created by whipping his people up to lust after war and conquest. The population is fully on board. They literally think Ukraine is full of gay satanists. The soldiers wrote "All the way to Berlin!" on their tanks. I don't think you understand the situation in Russia nor in Europe. 

Russia kidnapped up to hundredthousands of children and sells them to russians to do with them as they please. For "adoptions". Nobody checks what happens to the kids after. People in Russia are not rich folks who can easily support more kids. Those kids are used as slaves or for other abuse in a big number of cases. They re-sell them online and such adds were found. This shit makes Epstein look like a good guy. At least he went after teens and didn't spread videos. Those kids are in hell right now. And most will never be saved. Because they vanished.

Many rightwingers rally for Russia, because their hate for LGBT is bigger than their love for freedom, freedom of speech and human rights. Or their care for children. Don't be one of them.

"Had more success" - While thousands of young men die each day. That's not success.

It is far better than losing the thing they're dying to defend.

There is an easy solution, Putin should withdraw from areas that does not belong to him, if Trump had any balls he would have demanded that.
