As the first Players of the Year award ceremony comes to a close, we'd like to say thank you to everyone who voted, gave feedback, heckled the voting methods, heckled the nominees that you nominated, and will undoubtedly heckle the winners. Thank you!

Below are the winners of each category as well as a playback of their votes throughout the event. We plan to open the voting platform for nominations for 2026 by the end of January so that players will have the full year to nominate their choices as the year unfolds. We are looking forward to the great times and sheer stupidity that the Torn community will bring during 2026.

Players of the Year Awards 2025

We’re kicking off the Torn Players of the Year Awards 2025 — a player-driven event celebrating the biggest personalities, multis, legends, and disasters that made this year unforgettable.

Whether you spent 2025 climbing the ranks, weeping over a sexually invigorated reptile's internment, or only signed up for Halloween this year... this is the event to make your voice heard.

This Year's Nominees

Chosen by all of you - here are this year's nominees:

Award Categories

• Player of the Year — The one player who defined 2025. Skill, impact, or sheer Torn douchebaggery^TM.
• Villain of the Year — The mugger, vault-thief, or saboteur who everybody hates.
• Shitposter of the Year — The master of memes, snarky comments, and annoying fonts, the unstoppable collection of garbage threads loved and hated by the community. I know the winner IRL and they would never do this.
• Forum Fan Favorite of the Year — Know players who create incredible guides, helpful advice, advise young players to grave their stupid GD threads before they get permabountied? Nominate those heroes here.
• Noob of the Year — That fresh face who impressed us right out of the gate, entertained us all throughout the year, or innocently looted two M'aol relics and pissed off most of Torn. Must be under 1 year to be nominated.
• Fed of the Year — Sometimes they really don't have 37 brothers. We were shocked, horrified, and also kinda not surprised.
• Staffer of the Year —  Unsung mod, helper, or dev who made the city a better (or at least slightly less laggy or annoying) place.
• Trader of the Year —  That special someone who buys and sells your Xanax, elephant testicles, and other useless garbage at a slightly more affordable price than everyone else. Remember: it's not buymugging if they give you 7 seconds to bank your cash.

Nominees must have logged in at some point during 2025 to be eligible.

Event Timeline

• Nominations: November 15th – November 29th
  Submit your picks for each category! The top 5 nominees make it to the voting round.
• Voting: December 1st – December 22nd
  Vote for the top nominees from each category as they go head-to-head for the crown.
• Winners Announced: Some time after the 22nd once I finish the CT ornaments and people stop trying to loot me instead of Scrooge [23].
  
  

Prizes

The top 3 players from each category (except Fed and Staff) will receive:

• 1st Place: $250m
• 2nd Place: $100m
• 3rd Place: $50m

We’ll also be awarding cash and item prizes to random participants as well.

FAQs

Q: Is there another way to vote that doesn't use my API key?
A: Yes, you can use the Players of the Year Discord server to generate an authorized URL, you can verify by sending a random amount of cash to ScroogeMcDuck [115716] or you can message ScroogeMcDuck [115716] directly. See above for details. Posting here does not count.

Q: What will my API key be used for?
A: It will only be used for verifying who is voting/nominating to prevent duplicates. It is a bannable offense to use someone's keys for a purpose other than what is described. If you're still unsure, you can vote through an authenticated link via Discord verification or by private message (see above for details) or just make a temporary API key with limited access and delete it immediately after voting.

Q: Who can vote and who qualifies as a nominee?
A: Anyone can vote or nominate someone. The nominee must be active within the last year. In the case of noob or fed nominees, the nominee must be under 1 year or currently in federal jail respectively.
