With the onset of Elimination, we are expecting many deals being made, deals being broken and alliances betrayed. As such, we want to clarify the expectations of fair play for staff and committee, so they and players alike to know where they stand.
It is common knowledge that staff and committee are the only players in Torn held to anti-scamming rules. This has presented a few grey areas in the past, but elimination is always especially tricky.
We have more staff and committee in high profile roles than ever before, with the team captains system potentially placing them under a larger spotlight. Normally, they would be expected to uphold deals, sometimes to their detriment, which those without such restrictions may seek to exploit.
With that in mind, we want to make it clear from the offset that any deals made or broken by staff and committee during this competition, specifically with regard to elimination alliances, will not be subject to said anti-scamming rules. Staff and committee will therefore be on the same page as any player captains, able to betray their alliances, or not if they so wish, without any scrutiny from administration.
I hope you all understand the reason for this, and it's to also ensure players can be on the same page too.
