About NST

Even though I am only level 37, for reasons unknown to me, one or more people placed 100 bounties on me through an anonymous service called Nebula.

Friends, I am just a level 37 player. There is no need to be this afraid of me. Be brave, face me directly, and let’s fight until our last dollar. Don’t be so cowardly as to hide behind anonymous services.

When I spoke with the team providing this service, they told me that I could learn who did this for 5B (around $850). When I personally contacted the owner of the service, he said it could be revealed for 4B, but sincerely advised me not to waste my money on this matter.

After contacting the admin team, I was told that this situation is not against the rules.

What you should understand from this is simple: some players, despite being high level, are too afraid to confront others directly and instead choose to act through anonymous services. In Turkish culture, we have a saying:
“A groom who enters the wedding night with someone else’s strength is not a groom, but a bride.”

So, is this ethical? In my opinion, no. Imagine someone spending 27 million purely out of spite to discourage you from playing the game, while the admin team remains silent. Of course, admins intervening beyond their authority would be wrong, but losing new players and pushing them to quit the game benefits no one. Especially considering that I have been a subscriber for over a year.

In short, Torn has become a place where stronger players try to crush weaker ones with money, and unfortunately, admins have to tolerate this situation. That’s fine by me. However much money they are willing to spend, I can spend more. If the person who placed the bounty were truly brave, they wouldn’t resort to anonymous methods.

I will not bow to oppression. I will not be one of the players who gets tired and deletes the game.

Their merc service is simply more effective then Torn bounties. It's easy enough to just keep med CD over 0 to slowly burn em down without maxing med CD and only med out otherwise as needed.

Take it as a learning experience, now you know where you can go make some extra money by joining them.

They also have a wonderful bounty slot service you can place bounties for other people making 100k per, that's 1m from 10 slots (which was used on you) but in truth, their merc service is so much more effective. If you're smart about placing on people that aren't too overloaded (hundreds) they can run down and refresh pretty fast making close to 1m a day when business is good.

TBH since they expire after 1 week, probably most yours will just expire. Total waste.

This post is just going to cause other people to place even more bounties on you. 

This is a crime game and the idea of people playing it "ethically" is laughable. I see no reason why using a bounty depot would be in violation of Torn's own social violations.

Bounties barely hinder your gameplay since most things in Torn can be done in a matter of seconds, and then you can just spend the hours you're in the hospital..I don't know, make a PB&J or something.

This is never the play to make … Just take your lumps, keep your head down and play. Lots of people go through this sometimes deservingly sometimes not. You’re only playing into your enemies hands and causing more attention which will result in more bounties at this point.

Torn's always been like that. If you annoy/anger/accidentally DM/sneeze near a larger player, they're going to use their money (or the stats they've aquired using said money) to beat the shit out of you

Happy to see the advertisement for NST at least, if you start selling through them, you'll probably end up earning more than the money used to bounty you fairly quickly

Hey just popping in to shine some light on the 4b/5b thing.

Its an arbitrary value no ones ever paid. And with the money I would contact the buyer offering to split the money to see if they wanted revealing. (Probably part of why it never sells). If they say no we dont take the money.

We never reveal without the placers say so :)
