finally torn get rid of shah faction and automated muggers. best decision ever made. offertory is leaving or maybe cover up give away for the next account i hope she got banned before that. i did not got scammed by offertory but making page out of scam mugs is on another level, shout out to real muggers who do not use bots and scam players

I can KIND OF get torntools working on mobile safari, but that’s about it.

Gotta remember; most of Torns player base hears "Websocket" and they genuinely don't know what it is.

Genuine question. What's a key stage 3 magic key book? When I was at school you only learned about computers in the 2nd year of secondary school if you were bad at German in the first year.

Oh man you don't even understand. The Magic Key was the shit in primary school. Had to read it as part of your progression to harder reading but they were made into episodes aswell so once you read the book version you had a watch along.

Sockets are things you put light bulbs in. Light bulbs are things that came after candles but before LED. I looked on the back of my monitor and it has no sockets because its LED. I believe that means its ok. 

A suitable solution is if you do not want any kind of scripts running on live updating pages that are either out of view, out of focus or simply more than one instance of a live page across all devices, torn needs to be the one limiting in which windows live updates happen. Not torntools having to decide that a window is out of focus, not god forbid the user having to disable all scripts on their phone because they have their laptop open already.

Yes, for torntools and maybe in most other cases you can say it's not too important but then you are also implying that at some point, in your opinion, the developers should be responsible for this aspect. With your current design where things like market update over any number of open pages it is an insane and weird ask. If you don't want scripts giving me updates on an open page, Torn should no longer be showing me updates on that page. That doesn't actually make it impossible to circumvent with bad intent but it makes it easy for every user to understand what is or not allowed, and easy for a developer to be compliant.

Those people are not under scrutiny.

The examples are up for interpretation. What you feel should be a feature can be completely different from what I see but the idea is the same from reading your message. If it is popular, why not implement as feature? Maybe not even need to be popular, maybe implementation is just easy af… why not just implement? Take away the middle man.

I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description ["hard-core pornography"], and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it, and the motion picture involved in this case is not that.

Most scripts and even torn tools just makes data you could have on a page easier to see.  The people being banned for mug bots are using data from players bizarre that they never even visited.   I have to believe if they can't see the difference here they are being intentionally obtuse or lack the intelligence to work a phone.   

It would be completely acceptable and normal for Torn devs to acknowledge something like torn tools in part or whole is breaking the letter of the law and grant case by case exceptions.  I acknowledge the frustrating grey areas such as how things like ff and bsp analyze players information to calculate stat estimates.  But I think even these are using data previously collected to make these calculations, not prompting the player with new and updated changes.   Bsp or ff etc is not perfect, if the player uses a half dozen SE since last analysis it will be way off.  

I think the line is going to end up somewhere around scripts gathering and presenting data the player never realistically gathered. Like war helper showing hospital time that is available from the mini profile long press on target name and all the stats prediction data from the full profile page (with torn tools).  All of us could with various levels of accuracy do this our self just slower.   It's different from a script telling you an item sold from a player you never knew existed.   

There are countless ways scripts help and enhance the enjoyment and torn experience.   Such as logging Ah sales so that people can make better informed decisions.  As with the bad mug bots a player cannot realistically do this manually for all items.  Still this is only aggregated data not actionable ques to prompt an otherwise unplanned action.  Maybe they were intending to try mugging but not that one guy at this moment.   That I think is the difference.  Market scripts looking for underpriced items by this definition would also be illegal. 

I have only played for a couple years but has someone been banned for passive data collection?  I think it's only for automation and actionable events.
