As a new player I wanted to ask old players how big the inflation was when they played and what did Xanax cost?

edit
dont ask me why i know though im not an expert on torns economy, you just notice that some things change and others stay the same. something about a "drain" idk
you can check out by clicking the value section
But what was the average networth of a single player
Ched set game inflation to be acceptable around the 20% range, and he’s said he is good with that. He has control over the majority of the factors that feed into that 20% and can tweak the things if and when needed.
Although not xanax-specific, this post (and Ched's reply) pretty sums up the current state of Torn's economy :

Points dropping from a controlled base of $45k to a free market adversely affected a lot.
Seemingly every time I go to sell something recently it's dropped significantly in price. Generally, this is because it used to only be available in certain ways/areas and has since been added as, for example, a crimes 2.0 outcome.
Fruitcake is probably the most egregious example. Used to go for $200-500k+ whenever you needed one for that Duke mission, now they're at Bits 'n Bobs for $30 a pop.
I don't think the OC has had a massive impact on the price of Xanax compared to the number of people actively flying it, and the ever lowering price of it abroad in places like Japan and UK, meaning even more is being brought back to TORN.
It's important to be clear that this definition of inflation covers the money supply in game. It does not cover either the cost of in game items or the purchasing power of in game money (the definitions of inflation that sane people use)
now I'm interested in those spikes
Inflation depends on supply and demand ie. Game devs. When devs increase supply the price go down , when there is an attacking event the price goes up because people use more xanax. This goes for all other items.
If you are interested in overall game inflation and economics, you could look at the Torn Economic Review. I think they started around 2015. Initially expected to be annual, I think they come out a little less often now.
Here are the ones I could find
2015: https://www.torn.com/economic_reports/2015.pdf
2016: https://www.torn.com/economic_reports/2016review.pdf
2019: https://www.torn.com/economic_reports/AUG2019.pdf
2020: https://www.torn.com/economic_reports/AUG2020.pdf
2022: https://www.torn.com/economic_reports/AUG2022.pdf
2024: https://www.torn.com/economic_reports/AUG2024.pdf
These have good information about the faucet-drain model that Torn uses.
