I usually have 2-3 trades going at once using that 7b just so I have money to move around if better options come though

Thank you for the nice post. I just love simple, factual, and clear presentations like this. Looking forwards to hearing more eventually.

Stock Market Strategy – Month 2 Update (Reality Check)

Last month I posted my first results from testing a stock trading strategy in Torn.

Here’s how that went:

Strong profit, high win rate, and everything was working exactly how I planned.

Naturally… I thought I had it dialed in.

📉

Month 2 Results

This month didn’t go the same way.

This is a updated photo of today which shows my stock trading since day 1 over the past 2 months, so from my first photo of $273m profit

down to $204m profit over 2 months

❌

The Mistake (Big Lesson Learned)

This month I broke my own rules.

I held one stock for 30 days straight instead of cutting it early.

Normally, my strategy works because:

  • I don’t get stuck in bad trades
  • I rotate money quickly
  • I take small losses and recover elsewhere

But this time…

I convinced myself:

“It’ll bounce back eventually”

(Plus I had some irl shit happen over this whole month so didn’t really care and just left it in hoping in a week it would bounce back)

So instead of taking a small loss early, I:

  • Held it
  • Watched it keep dropping
  • Even doubled down with my other half of the 7.7b ,thinking I’d recover and profit more

That stock was LSC, and it just kept going down the entire time.

End result:

  • Turned a small manageable loss
❌ into a much bigger one
  • Locked my money for 30 days
  • Missed other profitable opportunities
  • Missed out on dividend

I did end up getting about 20 lottery vouchers which is about 20m but not including that as part of my profit as it’s not about the dividend it’s about small quick profit wins and not holding for weeks

🔁

Strategy Adjustment (Month 3 Plan)

This month I’m tightening the rules—no exceptions:

  • If I’ve held a stock for more than 4 days
  • And it hasn’t made a strong move upward

👉 I’m cutting it. No hesitation.

Even if it’s a loss.

Why?

Because:

  • I can recover losses faster by staying active
  • Capital stuck = missed opportunities
  • Small losses are part of the strategy, big ones aren’t

📊

Final Thoughts

Month 1 showed what the strategy can do at its best.

Month 2 showed what happens when discipline slips.

Honestly, this was a good reality check.

The strategy still works—but only if I stick to the rules.

lets see what month 3 brings and if it’s also a loss I may cut this whole project as my other projects

Seems like you have most of your eggs in the same basket.  Appreciate your open data and open discussion.  That script is pretty cool too.

I'd be interested if your strategy would remain to work from 3 months onwards. People have bad months that's for sure but the overall is something to note. I'm considering your method in the future (hopefully if they don't give us stocks 4.0 )

LSC screwed everybody this month. I had 15b in there at one point, and eventually sold 2 thirds of it at a 130m loss to invest in 2 other stocks. Those 2 have made the loss back plus more in a week. LSC creeping back up now too so hopefully that last third will be in profit soon.

Yeah as soon as I swapped I have already made 17m in a matter of a hour so it was just a bad stock that held Alot of people prisoners

This is an excellent post, really interesting.

I would like to ask, where does the script provide a score for the undervalued stocks? I can't seem to find this.

Thanks

I did this analysis too , with 50b, but was more of a mental note thing, I didn’t track anything , just had some mental notes about it, noting the differences when putting 50b into passive income/dividends vs putting 50b into actively trading stocks to flip.

Hopslam [795412]

If I recall correctly-  I found an investment plan that I could put approximately 50b into various stocks, and the result would be approximately 600m a month in dividends plus selling of the stock benefit items- that would be the 31 days dividend stocks plus all the weekly items received.

so with that, that was my baseline, I thought if I could be active and a little lucky/smart with the stock buy and sells, and if I could earn a decent amount more than the 600m passive baseline, then it would make sense to actively buy sell to flip for profits throughout the month.

what I discovered- was that yes some months I could definitely earn more than that 600m, but I also seem to have an aversion to selling things off at a big loss, even if that means a potential better result overall after further investments. Bc of that there were some stock investments I held for 1+ months and some over 2+ months before I could get back to break even or sell at a smaller loss.  Then those months were terrible- bc then I also wasn’t gaining that baseline 600m, and wasn’t earning anything profits on those investments (except the little bit of return from stock benefits).

so after many months, I ultimately decided to put the 50b into stock benefits and collect that 600m ish baseline.  I know I “could” make more with that amount of investment, but it’s easy and passive and I’m a lot more lazy and less hustle these days.

so I think my advice would be- for those still in the hustle and grinding and growing networth hardcore mode, then go with the active trading method.  Otherwise, if more passive and casual, then go with the stock benefits route.

Thank you for your analysis good to know with larger amounts when the stock dividends get more expensive and less Roi that you would still rather do dividends then stock trading,

Do you have a rough estimation of how much you made each month were you getting close to 600m
