Poker while flying?

So I just like many people fly quite a lot, during these flights there isnt much to do.

Seeing all these new big changes I was wondering why not make it so its possible to gamble/play poker?

I mean now that we will be able to use items and such during these flights why not be able to use your laptop for some online poker? 

Just a thought, maybe there is a valid reason.

It would just make the flighs more enjoyable :D

I think it should just charge a fee for using your planes wifi and allow you to play plus a percentage of winnings to be taken as tax as well cause the whole real reason I think they don't have this in game is cause it removes the risk of actually getting mugged while playing

Unfortunately poker while flying (or any other casino game) is likely never going to happen. Being able to gamble while flying also means that your money is 100% safe after getting up from the table. Essentially providing a completely safe way of making money. It sucks, but unless in flight mugging becomes a thing (I doubt it) or someone comes up with an ingenious way to fix this loophole, poker will remain an in person thing

The money stays on hand and can be mugged upon your landing, no?

The problem is the safety window after landing. You have 15 seconds of mug protection to squirrel it away

I don't really think the safety thing is a concern.
In my opinion, it is less safe to be able to fly and play poker. 
On normal tables you just self hosp during the games. You are safe if you leave, disconnect or anything else. 
Flying you are stuck. When you land you have a lot of cash from your winnings. You have to make sure to be there when the plane lands as muggers are always ready for travelers. You have to have a timer to be sure you are there when it lands, and you only have 15 sec to do your business. Can't self hosp or keep the money safe there. Risky risky. 

I can't see the harm in poker while flying, in fact, it feels like it is a mechanic not being used by poker players. Beside rehab that is. 

You already agree that there is a 15 second safety window when landing, whether that’s overseas or in torn. Literally set an alarm for when you land, log on, self hosp, store in vault, or ghost trade, before the 15 seconds. It’s super easy and that’s the problem. Your money is almost guaranteed safe. 

But I don't see how the 15 sec is superior to simply self hosp while playing. No need to set a time. Just self hosp and leave when you want. It's already super safe. And you can't self hosp overseas, while flying or ghost trade. So you will be extra stressing if you land while playing an important round. Or when you forget to set a timer or if something in real life comes up during the 15 sec safe period. 

Not saying it can't be done safely. But flying does not really provide any extra safety compared to normal poker playin, I would say it adds more risk.

Youre also suggesting changing fundamentally how cash on hand works with the poker table.

You say you could be stressing if playing an important round. Usually money on the table cant be mugged.

Are you suggesting money on the table be changed to always muggable?

Or you can only mug table money from flying players? (Doesn't particularly make sense, youd be playing on a laptop on the plane)

No, that wasn’t what I meant. Sorry, I wasn’t very clear.

What I meant is that when you land, you only have 15 seconds to avoid muggers, especially players like us with low stats, by rehabbing, buying stocks, or immediately flying again. But what happens if you are in the middle of a big pot? You might not notice that you have landed, or you might lose focus on the hand while trying to do your overseas stuff during the 15 sec and end up misplaying.

It is a very minor and pedantic concern, but my main point is that I cannot see the huge advantage that playing poker while flying supposedly provides. If anything, there are some disadvantages, however small they may be.

Being in the air and unable to be mugged is not really different from being in Torn and self-hospitalizing while playing, except that while flying, you have less freedom over when you can leave.

I'm not sure this change would have the effect you are expecting. To give a little bump to mugging.

Youre probably right that the odd noob may get caught with their plushie money on hand and have some of that mugged.

But the poker money on the table has become a lot safer - a lot less larger poker mugs would occur, or be possible. Certainly much, much harder. This feels like a nerf to mugging when you weigh these outcomes against each other.

Yeah, I can see how it would make it even harder for poker muggers. 
But it equalizes as it adds more jackpot targets for overseas muggers. 

So increased travel base, plus increased money targets versus harder for poker muggers. 
I can see the argument for both ways.

Also, not gonna lie, I am 100% biased as I just want the function heh. I'm 5 months into the game and there are still countries I have yet traveled to. 

It would be great if they added that !
