This is an absolute bullshit harassment warning.
The language in the rules is that harassment can be "Causing the distress of a player while using the personal information or potential appearance of them." The photoshopped image does not do this because it does not use the player's image, and the use of the image in question did not cause more distress than the cutting personal commentary laced throughout the thread.
The "image" of the player in question was behind zombie make-up, with a photoshopped dog nose, ears, and collar. If you showed that image to the guy's family they would not recognize it as him. For proof that it is not so harassing as to warrant a warning on its own, see that the player literally uses it as his profile sig.
The image, which is unrecognizable, was photo-shopped onto what looks to be a footballer or something. Are we saying that it is distressing to be portrayed as a world-class athlete?
It's not like the memer did something nasty like put him under a dog shitting or sucking on something phallic shaped or some otherwise embarrassing, rude, or ugly behavior like me we all do to each other in memes all day. So the meme itself was not any more harassing than what is allowed, the warning is only for using a "RL appearance" which is not remotely the player's RL appearance, and which he objectively does not feel harassed for. Whoever reported the meme was only weaponizing a technicality which is actually applied incorrectly.
Thanks Vern, you're right I wasn't trying to get personally nasty about anything, I don't mind some moderation as needed to make sure real feelings and lives aren't hurt. We are here to have fun.
To be fair, I've no indication who reported or why, if Mbappe plays torn he may have a valid complaint. I'm not sure if the ai generated image of a demon dog with blatantly generated eyes, mouth, ears and nose could play Torn... but if they do I can also appreciate putting harassment issues first and investigating whatever kind of automation issues that poses later. Either way, I had no intention of harassing a player or using their likeness in a way to cause real life stress and I'm grateful for those protecting these forums for Mbappe and/or ai demon dogs.
