We are going to war today and 1 of our indonesian players has a power outage.

I once saw a video where you could charge your phone with like vegetables and fruits.

so to the question. How many indonesian potatoes or w-ever would it take to charge his phone? And how should he set it up?

thanks in advance. 🙏

Are there no libraries in Indonesia?  Genuine question, it's where most here would go in his situation.

Or, a neighbours house?  Would be far easier and cheaper than buying the amount of organic power required, to do more than allow his phone to just attempt to switch on.  🤷🏻

This is also why most people keep at least one fully charged battery charger in a drawer, somewhere.  Sheesh, kids today.... 🤦🏻

A power cut is not an excuse. A True Torn legend would have a diesel generator tucked away for emergencies like this. I personally do not let power outages get in the way of chain saves, ranked wars or item market snipes. You either get it or you don't.

Don't try to tell me your country is getting bombed and you can't chain save. Don't bother to tell me you're wife is in labour. And don't you even dare try to say you can't push whilst in hospital (hospitals have WiFi).

The faction always comes first.

100% I keep multiple battery packs.

Also you should store them at about 70-80% capacity.

@OP he's better off getting a solar charger, than using potatoes.

Getting bombed is also not an excuse, thats what bomb shelters are there for...

A single potato makeshift battery produces only around 0.8 to 1 volt and an extremely tiny current, typically nowhere near enough to charge a smartphone.

To charge a phone, you'd need roughly:

  • about 5 volts (so at least 5 to 6 potatoes in series just to reach the voltage),
  • and hundreds or thousands of times more current than a few potatoes can provide.

So in practice, you'd be looking at hundreds to thousands of potatoes connected in a very elaborate setup to produce useful charging power, and even then it would be wildly inefficient. Buying a cheap power bank would cost less than the potatoes.

The faction's respect gained is finite. The number of potatoes required is not. 😂

25,000 potato batteries can provide enough electricity (0.5A at 5V) to charge a phone. Wire them up 10 in series x 2,500 parallel circuits.

Plug the cord in his butt and rub his feet on the floor to manually charge.  If he puts the potato in the butt first it’ll perform like a fast charger.  Just make sure to throw the potato away after and don’t accidentally use it when making dinner.
