A single potato makeshift battery produces only around 0.8 to 1 volt and an extremely tiny current, typically nowhere near enough to charge a smartphone.
To charge a phone, you'd need roughly:
- about 5 volts (so at least 5 to 6 potatoes in series just to reach the voltage),
- and hundreds or thousands of times more current than a few potatoes can provide.
So in practice, you'd be looking at hundreds to thousands of potatoes connected in a very elaborate setup to produce useful charging power, and even then it would be wildly inefficient. Buying a cheap power bank would cost less than the potatoes.
The faction's respect gained is finite. The number of potatoes required is not. 😂
