Has anyone else noticed the very obvious script usage in the auction house? If you place a bid on an item, the opposing top bidder will instantaneously place a corresponding bid of exactly one dollar more - this is true even across multiple listings, it's simply impossible for a human being to click that fast between multiple listings let alone one.

This is a mountainous oversight and needs to be fixed asap, because at this rate the auction house is useless.

They placed a bid much higher but only 1 dollar more is needed to be the top bidder.

The winning bid could be billions over the current shown highest bid.

the winning bid is 1 dollar more than the second highest bid always.

To place a bid it needs to be 1% higher than current top bid to be valid but only applies 1 dollar over second highest bid.

This is not a script, it's how the auction house functions.

If player A bid $1,000,000 as the opening bit, it will display as $1

If player B goes and bids $100,000, since you haven't outbid him, it'll display as $100,001

If player C then goes and puts down $10,000,000, he'll take over but it'll only display as $1,000,001

The winner only has to pay $1 more than the second highest bid.

The auction house works on a "set the most you are willing to pay, we will automatically re-bid $1 higher than anyone else who makes a bid, up to your limit - and then if you win we give you back any spare money which wasn't used".

They are not scripting a $1 higher than your bid, they had already said that they would pay an amount higher than your bid, so when you placed yours it auto-bid $1 more on their behalf and gave you your bid back.

If you find an item which has zero bids on it, and make a bid of $100, it will only actually show a $1 bid.

(You know that your max bid was $100, but everyone else just sees the $1 that it has on it)

Link to the last page, if you want to test that yourself :)

I think the bigger problem is players listing items and get faction mates to bid the price up only to relist the item the next day. That definitely needs to be stamped out.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that, if a wep is going for peanuts on a given day why wouldn't you bid it up, id rather pay a fee than lose tens of millions
