4B Total BS

Well, it only took me 1,577 days, which isn’t as impressive as some of you jokers.  But it feels like a big step for me.  

Coincidentally, it’s the number that seemed to have consensus support for what a respectable total was on today’s “What do you think is a respectable stats total” thread.  Though Beerstein still thinks I’m a n00b.

Was never a fan of def, tried dex whoring hated that as well after a while. Now moving to str main not whore. 

Yeah - I’ve been meaning to upgrade my helmet to protect me from that.  Also, I had my defend settings messed up - no temp and all

primary - from when I was set up as a punching bag.

Congratulations man, what did you training schedule look like?

2.3 Xan a day, every day, for over 4 years.  And 4 training books (Def, Str and Spd x 2) with 120 FHCs for each of those months.

My honest sense is that it doesn't make sense to whore out before you're at 1M each, since fighting below that generally doesn't involve armor or weapons that you can use to compliment your build.  But once you get high enough to specialize your stats, you can easily look back at all the E spent on your dump stat and have regrets :)

Consider that within a ratio of 1-6x your defensive stat to your opponent's corresponding offensive stat, dexterity outperforms defense on average, and add to that the fact that most people put less work into their Speed than they do their Strength, and you may be able to make the case for yourself to drag that 1M up a hair one day (you did already do the hardest part in getting it there!) It doesn't have to wind up super high to give good value, against anybody you don't fully mitigate through defense, a miss can go a huge way to avoiding painful debuffs that start downward spirals (eviscerate, demoralization, slow, wither, disarm, etc). Or, perhaps justify it purely on a merit-earning basis. I do agree that beyond 1B, you don't want to put tons of energy into both of your defensive stats in general, it is best to pick one and really lean into it because the two never work for you on the same turn, unlike your offensive stats which require each other to work well. Maybe I'm just too much of a completionist to leave something simple like that undone, though. After seeing you get three stats past 1B, I have faith in you for the fourth if you ever so choose.
