RIP the first 5-6 weeks of the year where we warred every week real wars and won ey 🤣 guess the 1 month of terms fucked that up.

DarthRevan [2836054] Reporter

we cover our own needles and revives for the most part.

but in some pushes I was looking at 2.3m per attack(not taking cost of e into account) with revives + needles 🤣

but you know what, while faction can agree, best war we’ve had in a while.

in totally unrelated news, if anyone runs a revive faction and fancies joining the eternal empire let me know 💀 can’t keep affording these 2 Xanax revives

So it find you weaker enemy and if you win you dont rank up but if you lose that can happen due to activity issue you rank down seems weird.

Well yeah they have some weak players but battle stats total is similar tho

Prynce [1425465]

This is shit though.

We had a system where a small faction was able to learn the mechanics of the game, percect them and work as a team to overcome a superheavy but lazy asf faction and live in higher ranks than their peers could... why? Because experience and intelligence was applicable to do better than 'standard'.

A faction with 2 1b online all day can, has and will beat a faction with 10 1b offline all day so going purely off of weight/stat size is pretty stupid because its not the whole picture.

When the lazy semi casual super heavy players realised that activity was beating them they cried for the changes to protect their lazy lead and the devs bent over backwards for them like they always do lol. Wonder where the competetiveness went? Look to the farmville factions of HoF and the devs/committee too scared to go against them. Theyre why competetiveness died in this game.

Lightweights have defeated heavyweights in RWs and TWs and the deciding factor is activity, not stat weight... yes its all good throwing billions of $ at it but that means nothing if you dont have members online to actually take the wall or to actually chain and use said funds. Look at BodyBagger in TWs or fuck even myself rn in my current RW... one man army heavyweight doesnt work when you have a bunch of smaller and active players running circles around you... that makes logical sense too, just like real world... if you got rushed by 10 people and youre on youre own... its not likely that you come out on top regardless of their ages or how much theyve gone to the gym.

Sure it matters whose got the biggest stats (stick) but it matters a lot more about who is using them (swinging it) - if you got the stats but no activity... what use are those stats?

This is why certain factions that dont RW and dont play competetively were thrown into diamond recently... activity is a MASSIVE factor that was not considered in the ranking changes... i want to say 'yet' but i have little hope

You say the commitee it too scared to go against the HoF.

I ask you to look at who’s in the commitee, and you’ll realise they physically can’t go against the HoF, because they ARE the HoF.

I’ve talked to a staff member about it prior to the announcement being made that these changes were coming, and helped edit the post before it came out. Asked if commitee was open to anyone other than HoF(mainly asking for myself if I’m being honest) and got told no.

If the game needs change for the better, it can’t have an echo chamber leading those changes

I just had a look through the player committee. While there are some HoF members / leaders in there, it looks like a various mix of people from different levels of faction to me...

Genuine question here, because I'm just not undstanding the new rankings (would be nice if we could see the ranking score that is apparently now determining ranks/divisions)

If rank is based on your hidden score, and factions are now being ordered by score and assigned a rank based on that, why aren't we seeing that with the HoF? Is Diamond still operating under its own rules?

Genuinely don't understand why PT-Shadowrazers are ranked 14th at Diamond 1 and Carbon are 15th, but Diamond 3

cestlatimmy [2107631]

This is the worst metaphor - boxing has weight classes so that the best fighters can be champions in an appropriate division based on skill rather than just raw strength and weight. This is much more similar to the old system and this is the opposite of the new RW system, where all factions are being ranked against each other based entirely on a modified Elo system.

The_Virginian [2799939]

There are currently 142 Diamond Factions and 360 Platinum factions. I see the dev's response to you, but I wonder if adding another Tier at the top, call it Titanium for example, and another Tier in between Diamond and Platinum might reduce the variances within these Tiers since it's logic being applied across a good swath of faction "ranks". Obviously without understanding how exactly the math is being applied to drive the current rankings, maybe this recommendation would be ineffectual.

*edit for spelling

Not impressed with new matchmaking so far. Got matched against a faction in gold 2 vs us at plat 2. No surprise to my faction, we win despite stat disadvantage. No one changes rank, its like the war didn't even happen. The new system assumes higher stats = win and its punishing those who win by coordination, turtling,  and activity rather than stats alone.

War was started with no terms and they asked for terms within a few hours from start of war.

cestlatimmy [2107631]

Honestly I wouldn't even know without being able to see the rank scores. And the fact that Diamond isn't sorted by rank only adds to the confusion. It's extremely hard to have constructive debates about mechanics that are completely opaque.

Bobtep23 [2516052]

So my question on this war.  Good thing you guys won because otherwise it would have shown your rank as a joke but since you did win - were your rewards in line with what you usually get?

Taxxon [882264]

They haven't added committee members in a long time and they don't really do much. They are more testers than anything, they are not really involved with any decisions.

Woogleen [2808960]

Are you sure they are only looking at HoF and diamond?

Because it seems Pedro is thinking just as much about the lower tiers as he is diamond....

DarthRevan [2836054] Reporter

Pedro may be looking everywhere, but the guidance he’s getting from the committee is not everyone.

Pedro is sound, talked to him a lot, quite like the guy, but when the official game committee don’t represent 80% of the game, what good is it?

Prynce [1425465]

Oh i know who they are, i know that there are a few in the committee that wish it was different but they tow the line because theyre so heavily overpowered by the echo chamber that is strangling the game

Taxxon [882264]

He's not wrong here, we have loads of guys who sink tons of their own resources in order to win even after encouraged not to do so. I am also guilty of this.

These are the people who enjoy warring and winning and aren't doing it for the money however, these typically are people who manage their own fiances well so have the funds to do so.

It's hard to convince your most competitive members to not be, you just risk losing them.

I completely agree with the thought here, but it's not really that simple. Most people fit into one of two categories, ones who care about winning and ones who care about money.

The ones who care about money will want to continue terming, aim for easier wars, and maximize their training.

Ones who care about winning will now likely have to sink even more resources to do so as wars will inheritingly be more competitive.
