• She has also been credited by a racing telemetry developer for reporting a bug that subsequently got fixed. So even her twattery occasionally produces software improvements.

But the available evidence is not exactly exculpatory. 😂

Short Version:

If you mean the Torn player PhoqueYou [3366164], the public forum evidence mostly suggests they have a deliberately sarcastic/trollish sense of humour. Their own recurring sign-off is literally, “If I insult you, please know it comes straight from the heart 💜.” Torn+1

There’s also at least one recent exchange where they responded sarcastically after someone called a question “entitled.” Torn

So, scientifically speaking: probably terminal smartassery. 😭

Oh, now we're doing the proper forensic analysis.

Based on PhoqueYou [3366164]'s public TORN forum behaviour, the “twat” hypothesis appears to be less about one catastrophic incident and more about a consistent commitment to being an absolute menace in the most technically defensible way possible.

1. They appear to treat “being helpful” and “being an arsehole” as compatible activities

A particularly good example is the thread from September 2025 where a new player says they were scammed out of money by someone selling losses and asks whether this is normal and how they can get revenge.

followed by their own signature:

“I will never lie to you. What I say is how I feel...”

This is almost philosophically annoying.

They aren't merely participating in the conversation. They're apparently attempting to become the commentary track for everyone else's conversation.

You could be discussing nuclear physics and PhoqueYou would wander past, say something completely unnecessary, and then leave you to determine whether you've just been insulted.

4. They seem to enjoy low-effort disruption

There's also a thread where PhoqueYou repeatedly posts things like “B,” “Bump,” and similar minimal contributions. Torn

Now, individually, these aren't crimes against humanity.

But cumulatively, it's the forum equivalent of walking into someone's house, moving one chair approximately three inches to the left, refusing to explain why, and then leaving.

It's deliberately just enough activity to make their presence everyone's problem.

5. And then there's the spectacular keyboard explosion

In June 2026, in a forum thread, PhoqueYou posted an enormous string of apparent keyboard gibberish ending in “FUCKYOUCHED...” and then edited it shortly afterwards.

In their recruitment post, for example, they describe the faction as having helped them both inside and outside TORN and say it rekindled their enthusiasm for the game.

So the evidence doesn't really support:

“PhoqueYou is an irredeemable asshole.”

It supports something considerably more entertaining:

PhoqueYou appears to enjoy being helpful while simultaneously making the delivery as obnoxious as humanly possible.

And that is a very different phenomenon.

If you mean RedGobbo [3619801] on Torn, the receipts do suggest a pretty obvious answer: because being an antagonistic little shit seems to be part of the posting persona. 😄

A few examples:

• They openly bait people with lines like “who could be afraid of little, old, harmless me?” while discussing anonymous bounties. 

• In one argument, they went from a fairly mundane IT suggestion to calling the other player “Champ” and making a rather elaborate fungal-crotch insult. 

• In another, they called someone's contribution a “non-contribution, pissant,” then doubled down with “Pissant” after being challenged. 

• They also seem perfectly happy to deliberately provoke GD threads rather than merely participate in them. 

So, based strictly on the public Torn posts I'vefound: probably not because of one particular grievance, but because RedGobbo appears to enjoy trolling, sarcasm, and getting a rise out of people.

Please forgive me for my sins, but goddamn was I curious and it seems AI has got me a bit more dialed in than expected...

I wouldn’t call him simply a hero or simply a villain. His own posts make him look much more like a deliberately antagonistic “chaotic-good/chaotic-neutral” character who genuinely enjoys the game and the social warfare around it. There are some pretty strong arguments on both sides.

The “hero” evidence

One thing that jumps out is that MeanMike actually seems to put considerable effort into the communities and teams he’s involved with.

For example, in a September 2026 team discussion, another player basically says, “Ugh, MeanMike is on our team.” Someone else immediately pushes back, pointing out that Mike had worked extremely hard for his team in the previous year’s event and that, whatever someone thinks of him personally, he was putting in the effort. 

And Mike’s own response there is telling. He’s joking about being teamed with someone with whom he’d previously had friction:

“we are getting along smashingly”

and says he expects they’ll have more respect for each other when it’s over. 

That’s not exactly the behavior of someone who wants every relationship to remain an enemy relationship. There’s a competitive streak, but there’s also a willingness to play with people he has previously opposed.

There’s another revealing thread where someone describes him as a player with significant leadership, strategic and community involvement. Interestingly, Mike himself corrects the characterization rather than simply accepting the praise: “Nothing about Slots or Essays, but I’ll take it.” 

And then there’s the fun side of MeanMike. When his faction welcomes him, another player describes him as “delightfully long-winded,” and Mike basically embraces the joke rather than getting defensive. 

That makes me think the absurdly elaborate forum persona isn’t entirely accidental. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

The “villain” evidence

Oh, there’s plenty. 😂

The biggest problem with the heroic interpretation is that MeanMike appears to genuinely enjoy being the antagonist.

The thing I find most interesting about his posts is that he doesn’t appear to be trying very hard to make everyone like him.

That’s different from someone who is accidentally abrasive.

MeanMike seems to understand that his enormous posts, provocations, faction politics, shitposting, and willingness to get into arguments have made him a character. And rather than retreating from that reputation, he plays into it.

The 2025 “Welcome to NS - MeanMike” thread is almost a perfect illustration. Stretch writes an enormous tongue-in-cheek welcome celebrating Mike’s legendary verbosity. Mike responds by quoting the whole thing. 😂 

That’s someone who understands the bit.

And there is actually evidence that people who know him in-game don’t necessarily regard him as the villain his forum reputation suggests. A Reddit discussion about the Lumberjacks describes MeanMike and others as doing a good job leading the group, while other comments joke about the fake drama surrounding them. 

So my assessment, based specifically on his posts and the reactions around them, would be:

MeanMike is the Torn equivalent of the character who walks into the movie wearing a black cape, delivers a five-minute monologue about why everyone else is an idiot, then spends six hours helping his team win the war.

Not a traditional hero.

Not a straightforward villain.

He’s a shit-stirring protagonist who is perfectly comfortable being perceived as the villain.

Assuming you mean the Torn player Fists [2830940], I did the responsible thing and checked the evidence. And, well... I can see how you arrived at “twat.” 

His forum persona seems to run on a particular fuel mixture:

Relentless bumping. One suggestion thread has him repeatedly resurrecting it with things like “bump,” “bump uncreatively,” and eventually admitting he was struggling to think of creative ways to bump it. 

Very high confidence in his own suggestions. He returned to his old Lucky Quarter idea to announce that, upon rediscovering it, he thought his own idea was “pretty good.” Then he bumped it again six months later. 

He knows he’s doing it. In another thread, other players specifically complained about excessive bumping, including “please stop,” yet Fists continued periodically bumping the thread afterward. 

Torn-forum shitposting is clearly part of the act. His posts range from arguing about the dump economy to dick jokes and calling another player “pookie.” 

So I can't establish scientifically that Fists is, in fact, a twat.

But the peer-reviewed evidence for “terminally online Torn forum goblin who enjoys making himself impossible to ignore” is considerably stronger.

Seems legit, based on the high number ofbumps in your forum history.
