Back in the day, during wars, having a player who worked for a gun shop company was actually a perk.
That player would open opponents' profiles individually, check what armour and weapons they were using, and excitedly report everything back in faction chat.
But now? Fuck that guy.
Just install a script and suddenly you can see everyone's weapon loadout without even working for a gun shop company.
I know everyone is benefiting from this, myself included. But let's be honest: if we're judging this purely on whether it's right or wrong, fair or unfair, it's pretty clearly wrong.
It's basically a perfect example of:
"Corruption is bad... if I'm not in it."
So why don't Ched and bogie do anything about it?
My guess is simple: because it's popular. These scripts benefit far more players than they hurt, and banning them would definitely cause a massive backlash. Nobody wants to be the bad guy who takes everyone's toys away.
We saw something similar with mugging scripts. At first, not much was done. Eventually, people started feeling the negative effects, complaints grew, and action followed.
The fact that most of us benefit from something doesn't automatically make it fair.
Personally, yes, I use these scripts and benefit from them. But I'd still rather see them banned. Working for a gun shop company is supposed to give you access to information other players don't have.
So...sometimes something can be good for almost everyone using it and still be bad for the game. So here's a poll for everyone:
