Torn is a crime game. As such buy/mugging ploys are a part of the culture.

Team buy/mugging is something I learned about this week. It has its benefits; deniability is one them. One person buys out your bazaar, the other sits on your page waiting to attack. It’s clever really.

You can hate it all you want, but it is all within game rules, and I do get that — but where we are now is something else. This is now just bullying pure and simple.

Yep. I did place a small anon bounty on this guy mostly because it seemed jaw droppingly stupid to buy out my bazaar in 18 seconds and mug me 7 seconds later. You can tell me that after someone buys out my bazaar in 18 seconds, then me being stealth mugged 7 seconds later is a stalker, but come on. Really? Seven seconds?

I guess technically it could happen … and I would accept that except for a couple of sticking points.

He paid for a reveal on my single 250k bounty, which thought was odd. Had he even been remotely civil when he contacted me, things could have gone a lot differently. Instead I was met with immediate threats and intimidation and I’m not sure why. As far as I know I can’t remove a bounty, so it was/is just pure bullying for bullying’s sake. He immediately placed on his ignore list and started w/ multiple bounties.

Following my high school bully style interaction w/ this guy. I started digging around the forums. This is common behavior for this guy. There are two other threads about him. One of them is almost a carbon copy of what happened to me. By all evidence that I can find, he seems to enjoying bullying low level players.

I mean:

Me: lvl 20 | Age: 141 | Stats: 98,870

So fine. Hit once, take your lumps if the person figures it out and move on. That is frankly what would have happened instead of the fantastic over reaction I’m getting now. And by fantastic, I mean this:

If he was working with a team they should be ashamed they were so slow. 7 seconds is a long time for a buy mug.

I am a 50 y/o grandmother of two just trying to kill some time during a pandemic. The fact that this guy has made the game unplayable for really no reason aside sport and made me want to quit.

Chances are it wouldn’t have been him mugging for such a low amount. He’s bought more from me and not mugged me... so why would he mug you for the sake of 1m....

I was accused earlier after a 10m points buy... I proved that it wasn’t me to the guy instantly. And got my apology. I was polite the whole time though, even when I wasn’t receiving the same treatment from the other party. I actually took the time to teach him how to protect his money afterwards.

Takes more effort to be a dick, than it does to show people how to play smarter.

If you would have sold to a trader you wouldn't have gotten mugged???

Also make sure you can prove whom you are accusing of mugging you. A lot of times others sit on your bazaar or accounts watching shit sell then mugging...

And make sure you know whom you are accusing. How many enemies, friends do they have? What faction? Etc..

I would just grave this instead of drawing even MORE attention to yourself...

That's they way I wished it had of gone. But I wasn't even given a chance to apologize.

The fact it took 7 seconds means its more likely to of been a stalk mug rather than a buy mug, buy muggers mug you within 1-2 seconds, 7 seconds is very slow for a buy mugger. Take this as a lesson learned and self hosp when selling on the item market or simply deposit your money faster.

You started the aggressions by placing a bounty on someone you didn't know buy mugged you or not so whatever retaliation is made you better accept, the onus to reach out and stop hostilities is on you since you placed the first bounty.

Making threads such as this just lets him know it's effecting you most likely making your situation worse than better so i suggest you try messaging him and apologizing or just deal with it until he gets bored.

If the first small bounty was a mistake, so be it. Not being given the chance to apologize and just getting bountied 24/7 is another matter. There is no debate that he's doing that, and there is no debate that he's done it before.

What else can I do? Quit? That seems to be about my only path. That and this thread.

He will stop eventually, bounties are just a minor inconvenience you can do everything normally if you manage them well, just heal out and use all your e and nerve to train and do a race. And alot of revivers will revive you for free if you simply ask, he will realize he's wasting his time and money then move on.

Anyone else appreciate the bounty value is higher then his stats?

You didn't check whether he actually mugged you, so bountied him, and then complain when he does so back for falsely accusing him?

Learn to play around the bounties if they aren't stopping... manage your medical cooldown and med out to train/do crimes - you'll get through them eventually.

That was every thing in my bazaar and I only had that much because of Tourism day. In retrospect I should have used a trader and I will moving forward. I also learned about self hospitalizing this week as well. So I have learned from this.

That said. As things stand now. The game is unplayable because someone is butthurt. That person has 3.6 billion in stats. What can I do moving forward?

That his play style, some people just like to feel superior among others, and since they can't feel superior with their own level players, they choose small level players because they know they stand a chance.


Even though he started his attacks against me trying to "protect" a friend, whom I kept hosping because he offended me on real life massacres his country did against my country (and apparently Milutin_K was from the same country and couldnt stay away without being involved)

I have been bountied by this same guy for over 8 months now - yeah you read it right, 8 months without one single day without bounties. It has come to the point that every forum post I make (no matter the section, even when reporting bugs was disliked by him), derailing my threads after not giving a f**k about him for over 4 months, trying to put himself on my attention list by interfiering on my thread which had completely different topic (here) and not realizing I don't actually give a f**k about stalkers like him. Besides, its them that are stalking my profile, and not the vice versa.

To whom it may concern, his "friend" that he was protecting was level 18, while I was level 19. we were 90 days old apart of each other. It was basically a player in my league, and the reason I was attacking him was because admins took no action on him after I reported him after what he said to me. Basically it was a fair fight. Not bullying.

And Milutin_K has done this to other people aswell. I recall when he first started bountying me 8 months ago, someone wrote me and told me how sorry he was and that Milutin made his friend quit by bounties (he was under level 20, I don't recall the name after such a long time sadly)

I guess spending over 2.4 billion on bounties on people that are 60 levels lower than yours is just next level bullying

If Milutin reads this post: I will gladly take all your bounties like you did for the past 8 months (not split them with young level players), just leave other new level players alone. I am used to it and your shit play style won't affect my playstyle so instead of trying to feel superior on low level players, either grow some balls and pick someone your own size or stop messing with new players. (you can still continue bountying me because I know for a fact, that just being from Republic of Kosovo is another reason for you and won't make you stop no matter what, and I am ok with that)

Now you can learn about how to play around bounties, the hard way, unfortunately. You'll emerge a stronger player because of it, though :)

If he had put one stack of bounties on me and then moved on, fine. I would have sucked it up and moved on too.

Instead we are up to 41 in four days. He puts on five, soon as they are gone he puts on 5 more. Now he's upped that to stacks of 7.

If I am out of the hospital for even 60 seconds I am lucky.
