What happened to windows 9?
Does anyone know if there has been any mention of any new courses or degrees coming? I have been finished all of them for a while now, and trying to decide if I should reset my merits, or if with all this respo stuff are new courses just around the corner?
Cheers,
Danny.

I've had this for a while now several months. It only seems to happen on my iPad Air iOS 9.3.1 currently, but it's been across several versions. I usually use Chrome, but it'll happen in Safari too.
I don't know if the server makes any difference I am currently on app4 but have noticed it on app6 also, I don't generally look at the server sorry.
This can happen on any page that has multiple step in it. Usually the first 2 steps load fine, but if I need to make a third there is about 90% chance that it will no load, however if it does work it will usually continue working for a few minutes. I don't recall ever seeing a page not load initially, but the second Step does occasionally have issues about 2% chance it won't load, I think the only time there is an issue loading the first page is when there is an RSA(?) mismatch error.
Clearing the Cache didn't appear to do anything.
No personal questions? The first three are ASL :P
Anyway done, good luck with your research.
Removing the 15 minutes downtime at midnight, which meant we could do multiple day chains. Although that all ended with the the peaceful factions, and now the 100 hit bonuses stuff.
I make HTML5 games which can run on consoles. I don't know how to answer :(
Drank far too many beers, attending a zombie wedding. Ahh good times ^.^
Woohoo. Yay for being creepy weird arseholes ^.^
Really? I heard it the other way around. I haven't played Beyond Earth, but from everyone I have talked to they have said it's far too simple and missing a lot to be interesting, with only 2 real viable play styles to go with.
Find an artist, a coder, a sound guy, and a designer. Stick them in a room for 48 hours with a large suppply of pizza and energy drinks, call it a game jam, then wait.
Alright, even if that is the upper limit, Current PV cells are something like 6-8% efficient, so even then you're still going to struggle to collect more than 20x what we can currently gather.
I thought (From my basic, and outdated, physics) that the efficiency of PV cells was from the fact that they can only absorb a small range of the Electromagnetic spectrum, while the rest is either reflected back out to space, or converted to heat. I guess then trying to get a bit more energy out of the heat would be good, and desalinating water is always awesome. I just think concentrating the energy of 2-5000 stars would require that many stars, which sure we have, but only one that provides any useable amount of energy.
But we only have one sun.
Haha like make sure your case can actually fit that huge graphics card you bought, and the joys of cable and airflow management.
Well if he found a book on HTML game development. I am sure it would be HTML5 game development which are mostly based around Javascript, the only pure HTML games I could think of would be a choose your own adventure book type game, maybe a spot the difference type thing, but I don't know why you would, as you could get something much cooler and simplier done with javascript. Any SQL you do would be done via rest callls, or through php directly on your server.
Why you would want to want to edit something locally is because not all html games are multiplayer. There are tones of random free tower defence games where maybe you are enjoying it, but get stuck on a random level, so you want to make it a little easier by giving your self a few more lives, or a bit more money. I can't imagine any server being set up simulate along side ever active client just to ensure they haven't cheated. Firstly because of the delays introduced, and secondly because if you have 100,000's of concurrent users you''d need some serious server power. In that case it would possibly be easier to catch them at the end and check what towers they have build, vs what is the max money they could have which would then be validated at the end server side but it could still be intercepted and made to look correct anyway. So maybe you could send alll the users interactions in the level and have the server evaluate it. It would fix my first issue.
Maybe the difference we have is I am thinking more real time interactivve games, and you're thinking more browser based torn like games?
If your playing a web canvas or a webgl (or even flash slightly more difficulty) game you have access to all of the local memory is accessible and if the developer has been particularly lazy or it's just a hobby project that they don't make money from then it'll probably be unobfuscated. Then open your console. type console.log(window) look for the game objects then Game.score = 100000; Then at the end of the level when the game sends off your high score wow you're at the top. Again, this wouldn't help on something like torn where all requests are handled by the servers, but something like flappy bird you wouldn't want to have servers processing everyones clicks and trying to simulate how all local games played out, sometimes you just have to accept what the local client is telling you.
I dunno with HTML5 and having a pretty decent canvas and WebGL support, they are a lot more common. Sure the games are written in javascript rather than html, I guess with just pure html alll you could reallly do is something like a choosee your own adventure type game.
As far as "Hackinng" a browser game if it's a canvas based game you can pretty much press f12 in chrome and change values directly, it'll be a little work hopefully to try and work out what is what. However any multiplayer game, something like torn for example you'll be a little screwed as everything I would hope is autenticated server side, so you have no direct access to any actual values, just a bunch of commands you can tell the server to do like train 32 times in strength, and then the server is responsible for doing the request and you get a response. So even if you set your energy to 1,000,000 on your web page, if yo tried to train and your actual energy is 0, you would still not gain any stats.
Valid points, and I guess if it does just come back down to my lack of understanding of what the gamer gates want. If it's just about journalism ethics, then I see no real reason to interfere in an open world, people are free choose what they want. I wouldn't buy a game just because Kotaku gave it game of the year.
Sure I know the difference between objective and subjective, and any journalism is always going to be subjective. Objective would need to be based of something measurable, so that someone else could come to the same conclusion, and I couldn't imagine how that'd work. I guess you try to break them down into smaller components, like graphics for example. How do you objectively give a rating, and review? One reviewer might love some hand painted scenes, and think it complements the whole feel of the game. Where as someone might look at it and think, it's horrible and something that should have stayed back in the 90s.
As free as people are to make their own games they should be just as free to write reviews how they see fit. If people want to be paid off or announce hidden messages about the games they are reviewing it's their choice, and they will suffer or succeed based on their choices.
Also you don't know what goes on pasted the edge of the box, there might be something even cooler over there haha.
tldr;
If GamerGate people are so pro diversity in games why do they attack women in the gaming industry? And if GamerGate people are so liberal why do they care how game journalists act when there are many alternatives?
Yeah, I am bottom left also. Although a lot more left xD [image: www.politicalcompass.org]
However watching the video has confused me slightly, in my mind the pro gamergate people wanted games to be a set thing that "Gamers" would want to play, and that developers shouldn't waste their time on time on non Brotastic games, and instead make games for them only. And yeah, that there should be more accountability for journalists.
However that video seems to suggest that the gamer gate people want games to be allowed to be more diverse, but at the same time don't want them to change at all? If so then what is Gamer gates issues with women in the games industry?
Around journalism sure that should be less bias but I don't think the gaming industry is where it should start. Those guys are out there to make money, and sell issues, they will write what ever gets them their dollars. But there is a reason most of the game magazines are dying. People caught on to it long ago, and there is now an alternative. There are so many other sources of information that relying on a single magazine wouldn't make sense. You can easily get more accurate reviews on metacritc, or find a you tube channel where the person running it has the same taste in games as you. Game reviews are always going to be subjective as they're always going to reflect the experience that the person reviewing had. Unless of course they were paid off, or threatened to no longer give pre-release review versions if the author writes something negative. But that is the writers choice and surely as libertarian's Gamer Gaters should be fine with companies doing that, and instead look for their reviews elsewhere.
Also didn't get through you're video on doxxing as there is only so much Microsoft Sam I can take. But from a friend of a friend being forced out of her house, I guess I can only see that as negative. Sure anyone can add a #GamerGate on what ever they want, and their is no way to stop it. But surely the Gamergate people would denounce the attacks?
All in all, I am definitely not pro gamer gate, but also no the videos definition of anti gamer gate either.
I think anyone Doxing, and threating people are always in the wrong. However admitily I said something to someone online when I was 12/13, I still wish I hadn't done. Though it wasn't until I was like 15 I realised why what I said was actually incredibly horrible. So I am sure a lack of education, and experiences accounts for some of the horrible stuff that is done. That said the attacks on people are so well orchestrated, there are mostly likely people incharge who should know that what they're doing is pure dickish, and evil.
As far as the gamer identity is concerned, I imagine that most of the social gamers wouldn't identify them self as a gamers. I guess I still identify my self as a gamer, but I am trying to break that, much in the same way I don't classify my self as a movier, tv watcher, or biker. But to me a gamer is still someone who plays core games, and that's where my mind would go.
Game Political Corectness, I think Anita Sarkeesian makes some good points, but at the same time, she also over exaggerates her points to make a good show, I think there was a violence against women episode or something that was full of misleading information.
I think the game developers should have the freedom express their vision however they want, they are the ones who are taking the risk to try and fill a niche market to make money, or the express their vision. I think the most successful games are definitly going to be the ones made by people who are making something they know and enjoy them self. So while I enjoy Anita's videos, and that they make me think about some issues, I am not going to avoid a game because it uses the Damsel in Distress trope, and I will just play games I enjoy. In much the same way I can accept if a game is made where I am not intended target. It's the developers who know their target audeience and should push in which ever direction they choose. Even if their target audience is just themself and they just want to tell their story.
Did your servey but I have 5 computers with a mix of ssd and HDD, although I guess no hybrids, so was a little confused in places. I guess including my phones a tablets with ssds I should have been more in favour of ssd than I answered.
Yeah, I'll upgrade my Windows 8 desktop but keep my 7 on 7. My I got a little excited hoping I'd get my phone with WP7 an upgrade, but it's only for WP8 :(
That's not the correct link for your referral. It should be something like www.torn.com/1834047 ;)
