Our brains are trained to look for problems so we can take action and make things better. It's a sort of security the brain has. So I believe some negativity is helpful. But I also believe people also need to think about all the good things Torn has going for it.
Of course, some people take negativity to a cynical extreme, and I've never heard of an healthy extreme.
Once mod accuracy was nerfed I stopped doing missions. I believe once you have the mods or books you want, the rewards aren't worth the energy drain anymore. I need a good reason to get back into them.
At this point it doesn't matter much what Ched's intentions were. What matters now are the players' intentions. And the HoF factions are not going to give up their rackets because this is not Robin Hood, this is money-hungry Torn.
I believe the rackets system is definitely unbalanced but it is fair at the same time.
Assistance is being given to people who don't really need it, while people who could use more assistance get little to none. That's why it is unbalanced.
But it's also fair because of the nature in acquiring these rackets. Essentially, you have to fight to attain a racket, and be prepared to maintain it at any given time. So the stronger factions take the rackets simply because they are stronger. People have played their asses off to make those factions strong, therefore they deserve the rewards. I can see the imbalance, but I can't see the unfairness.
So because weaker factions could use more assistance than stronger factions, they should just be given the better rackets? Why? How will that argument ever work realistically in a competitive game like Torn? Why care about YOUR faction when I'm more concerned about MY faction?
I don't believe proxy factions are necessarily "bad."
Big factions should be able to hold the best rackets. If not, then what is the point of growing a faction if you can't use the power and money that comes with it?
I get that the weaker teams out there feel left out because the rich and powerful are snaking up all the benefits. However I argue that capitalism is at Torn's core and that the reality is yeah, capitalism can be a cruel bitch when you're on the weak and poor side of things. Plenty of people saw this coming and for the right reasons.
Is this an issue that needs a fix? I don't think so. Leave things as they are for now.
The social aspect is most important. Making alliances and good decisions is crucial.
No matter how much a team is stacked, it can be brought down with alliance teamwork. However, it was not done early enough, leaving almost no chance to take LJ down in the future. That was a bad decision - if Trolls alliance had sustained the pressure when LJ were down, who knows what might have happened.
The other chance to take LJ down would have been in a 3v1 against FM KW and BC. Again, the social aspect helped LJ and it was FM who ended up falling.
LJs were no doubt the most stacked team. The method in which teams lose lives helps the most stacked team since it's based on total amount of attacks. LJs were not stacked by accident - again, social aspect.
I think LJs could have been taken out earlier. Trolls alliance did pound us a bit and took us to zero, but they should have sustained it for far longer. We did lose a life in the process, proving that LJs were not invincible, yet they stopped concentrating on us.
At the time Trolls was taken out, BC was at zero and seemed to be next on the chopping block. Someone must have known that they would try to save their ass by allying with somebody. With BC on board, LJ's considered FM a threat to be taken out immediately. Many LJ's were stacked and waiting for the next slaughter.
The timing of the attack also matters. The attack happened shortly after 8AM TCT, when many FM were still sleeping in the west.
LJs were being zeroed earlier in the competition by 5 teams. We pushed so hard that Trolls alliance ended up picking another team to zero. It wasn't that long ago.
Millennials were brought down hard by LJ's alliance. They tried to save themselves by jumping to the other ship. Then Trolls alliance.brought Millennials down hard. LJ's alliance tried to help as best they could, but it was just too much.
