So I read the thread about Lee Harvey Oswald and got to thinking about what other completely inappropriate names could be given to honors. What else can we come up with?

Adolf for people who use tear gas 100 times (suggested by Bexleya)

Osama for bombing 1000 government buildings (suggested by Bexleya)

Timothy McVeigh for bombing 500 government buildings

9/11 merit if you’re flying during a dirty bomb (suggested by MakinDuBacon)

Rodney King for 1000 critical hits using kick

Ayrton Senna or Princess Diana for crashing in races 100 times

Kaczynski for delivering 100 small explosive devices

Martin Bryant for 500 critical hits with a rifle

Schools Out for 1000 critical hits with a rifle

Trump Card for sending 6 companies bankrupt

Australia for 10,000 Arson Crimes

OJ for successfully killing your spouse

Congrats to Pink Power and Ched · · 38 likes

I just have to say well done to Pink Power. While I think the decision to change sex and skew the competition was cheating by way of abusing a glitch, I've got to admit some begrudging respect for them. They have taken on all comers and subdued the wrath of Duke to still be sitting pretty (in pink) and a very good chance of taking this thing out. With over 100k attacks, it has been an incredible effort so I take my hat off to them, win or lose at this point.

I've also got to congratulate Ched. While I think this could (and probably should) have been nipped in the bud when this abuse was first noticed, I have enjoyed this competition a lot. Teams who are already out pulled together and fought really hard to try and stay in- Short Bus as an example. The controversial introduction of Duke forced PP to have to really lift their game as well, which as I said before, they have done big time. Love or hate the way Ched has handled this comp, you have to admit, it has brought a LOT of drama, controversy, discussion and interest to the game. The forums have been teeming with life and comment. And some of it has been gold. Salty, salty gold.

Well done to everyone still in at this point and good luck. Unlucky to the rest of us who are already out- maybe next year I can get a merit........can't wait!

We used to have a Holden Commodore, it got nerfed along with the rest of the real car names. It's now the Oceania SS.

However, having a new alcohol available - The Shoey - would give you the experience you are after!

Finally I can get some decent sleep! Waking up every hour to miss half the races and still not qualify is tough work!

Awesome to see so many people involved this year, future of racing looking good! Best of luck to those that qualified,  and if anyone has a spare Stormatti they may be interested in leasing out for the next URT......

The champion we don't deserve! It is tough to get in this year, I don't think I've seen every race filled so fast every single time. Less than a minute for 3 races to fill, while the other 3 races are still in progress, 600+ individual racers fighting for spots.

But don't stop believing brother, keep racing and praying to RNGesus and get back amongst it when you've gained a bit more RS. It's a TON of fun!

I disagree with shortening it to 9 races. Most of the fun and the challenge of this competition was working out what races to use lower level cars on - both how it would disadvantage me but also what tracks might I have an advantage over other racers (esp those with a higher RS). Hell, if anything make it MORE complicated by adding in a rule that you have to use at least one car from each class! That see some serious next level tactics have to come into play!

Registration / password would solve most of the issues as you wouldn't get randoms joining at the last minute just to gain RS. But as long as you have a przie for last place in each race, you will always get someone aiming to claim that by running their worst car.

The only part that needs "simplified" is the collating and publishing of the results / admin. Tough to make it any easier, but easy enough to help lighten the load by getting some help from others. Maybe using a public spreadsheet on Google so people can see it themselves rather than waiting for the forums update could help feel less pressure to get it done as well.

Replying to Madbranch RE: crashing - I don't see a problem with a single crash potentially ruining your chances for the whole tournament, that is life. Look at Ayrton Senna. One crash definitely buggered his whole racing season (and the rest).....however, I think there should be a big prize for crashing as compensation. Crash = last place plus 1 second + a $4m prize w/ a bonus Box of Medical Supplies. I'd be happy to help cover this.

I think once a year is great and you have timed it perfectly for February. This has been an absolute blast - I have absolutely loved thinking through what cars I'm going to use and what tactics, as well as seeing what cars other racers are running on certain tracks. One of the best racing concepts I've seen as it's not just straight up race and hope.

Next year, reach out to a couple of players for some help - whether it's to steward a couple of races, collate data or get some write ups onto the forums. I'd be willing to help out and I'm sure a few others too.

Would love to see this become a regular feature of the racing calendar like JLT did.

Great job!!

I'd say registration and password will sort most of this out, as you will have people genuinely wanting to race and less people likely to run a stock E class car that bumps the slowest time out by a ridiculous amount.

But also I don't mind it, as that's life. Sometimes crap happens, through no fault of your own, that absolutely derails your best laid plans and leaves your campaign in tatters with no chance to win.

100% not giving up, but stupid work got in the way again today - I need to retire to devote my time to racing.......

Actually, what I will be doing is fully upgrading as many B class cars as possible from now on so I'm ready for the next time this is run.

Seriously, I fricken LOVE this concept mate - you are doing a stellar job, please make this a regular thing (maybe following each URT or even just yearly each February).

Gutted. Got busy at work and missed race 6. Game Over.

Not sure what to tell you here. Apart from me not having anything to do with the running of this comp, it was definitely in the custom list as the rest of us found it OK for race 2 and 3.

URT flashback where I was sitting 2nd after two races and then fell away dramatically......fingers crossed for no repeat......

This is great. I'm actually really excited to be doing this! The amount of thought I have been putting into what cars to use, as well as the amount of Official Races that I'm entering to try and build some points to upgrade my crappy stock B Class cars is insane hahaha!

This is a great idea and you're doing a great job fella. Keep it up!

Arrrgh......that moment when you realise you don't have enough points and will have to race some Class C cars......Stupid mutiple NSX cars....

Congrats guys / gals at the top! This is only the second time in 12 years I've managed to qualify, hope to see you all again here soon.

Thanks to all the organisers, this was an absolute blast and can't wait for the next one! Until then, see you all at the tracks and JLT!

I feel you. I was sitting pretty at #1 after the first two races and actually thought I was a chance.....it's the hope that kill ya.

Willing to buy an upgraded C class Car · · 3 likes

Willing but not able unfortunately.

Start entering into a few Custom Races to build your RS a bit (eg: enter a 100 lap race when you go to bed at night so it's done while you sleep), otherwise just keep grinding and upgrade wisely when you get some points.

Tip: don't fully max out your Class C car, try and leave yourself some points to upgrade your next level up when you progress. When you progress to Class B, consider using the Tanprice, as it also goes pretty well in Class A for any dirt tracks.

Good luck and enjoy the ride when it gets going!

What Racing Updates Would You Like to See? · · 2 likes

 - Make listed race cars a saleable item, where the value increases with upgrades (similar to properties). Or make racing points a tradeable commodity between racers, with a minimum or set amount per point so that players who focus on acquiring points in official races can use racing to make a profit.

 - More public knowledge around the RNG mechanics so people can tailor their game around it if they want to, eg: RS and upgrades obviously make a difference, are there other factors that have a + / - effect (Happy, addiction, prayer, being in debt to Duke, cooldown etc). If not, perhaps these things could be considered as an update.

 - Race chat is a quality suggestion from Nommagkcab. Or even a custom chat for event finalists like URT / JLT

 - Shorter wait time for Official Events.

 - All of Rogues suggestions about Records above are 100% quality: Records notified / highlighted, expansion of track records to include different lengths, expansion of class records to see top five in other classes

 - Racing parts are degradable, especially things like fuel, tyres and filters. They need to be monitored and replaced as needed.

 - More awards / medals available for Racing achievements to keep newer players incentivised to carry on

 - The ability to interactively participate in the race would be insane! You must be online watching the race and have the ability to use something like a nitro boost, or a maneuver to disadvantage a nearby racer (smoke, oil, swerve), but the timing has to be right or you risk crashing your own car instantly. Possibly far too hard to programme, but shooting for the moon with this one hahaha!

Will this be open to registered entrants only with a password, or each race a first in / first served basis?
